    It's probably something wierd with my computer but this has happened like the past 5 times I've downloaded full gallery .rar's. I downloaded the rars from RapidShare and this is what happens;
    [IMG]
    The window shows that the file is 21KB, but I run my mouse over it and it says it's 21.2MB. It also said it was 21MB when I was downloading it from RS.
    [IMG]
    Now, I go to extract it, it shows that there is only one file in the .rar and when I do extract it it still only has 1 file.

    I don't know if this is a RS problem, problem with the program I'm using (WinAce v2.2), or a problem with my computer. Like I said, it's happened multiple times from different posters so it's nothing that they did.

    So...has anyone else had this problem or, more importantly, can anyone help me fix it?

    I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd throw my 2 cents. For the 21,724KB vs 21 MB.

    Well it's simple math. The computer is saying is: 21,724KB == 21,724 X 1000 B. So 21,724 X 1000B == 21,724,000B. Now in turn this numbers is equal to 21 Megs.

    The metrics of the file are changing. Meaning 21,724KB is in kilobytes, but 21.2 is in Megs.

    Lastly it's not 21KB it's 21,000KB. Just remember KB is different than B because it's being multiplied by 1000.

    Hope this helps.

  9. Here is what I encountered with .rar files and rs. Before you dl a file check the size, if it says 23 megs make sure you get that anount. I was sent a file today and I dl'ed it and when I tried to open it I couldn't. I looked at the size of the file and it only downloade 13 of 23 megs. Rapid share has been having alot of glitches and this is one of them half way through a dl it quits and says complete.

    Yeah...I now realize this, and I'm an idiot. Can you believe I'm a really good math student! I feel like a dumbass.

    Yea, it took me a while too. Because they're using 2-3 different types of metrics.
