in latest version of opera my middle click on the mouse wheel is acting differently to how it would before.

usually its just "open in new tab", so for instance on front page funny pictures id middle click on them to open them all up in new tabs, when i do that now in latest opera version it opens up http://www.phun.org/ahl.html everytime instead of the picture. anyone know why?

I had this problem when I was on Fedora Linux.

Press Shift + middle click and see if changing the option fixes your problem. If not, you might have to configure the shortcuts preferences.

I'll guide you if you need.

hmmm, yeah shift + middle click brings up the option to open in a background tab/new tab/new window etc... but even if i change to one of them it still just opens up that ahl.html page as above in the new tab instead of the image i click on

    i dont get it

Go to opera:config and search for "PageBar Open URL On MiddleClick"; be sure it is unticked.

Also, check for "Center Mousebutton Action"; what is your value? I currently have it set to 2. In your case, try 0,restart Opera and see if the middle-click works correctly.

Ok I half-misunderstood your problem. I just middle-clicked some of the images of that page and you are right, it simply loads back the page itself in a new tab.

Just [Ctrl+]Shift+normal click on them as a workaround.

    yeah that works.

whats weirder though is that after having ctrl-shift clicked on an image, and it open in a new tab, i can now middle click on that image. but if i middle click on a new image, it loads the ahl.html.
