I don't think we want to get involved posting movies on this board. Too many people (Studios) could get involved.......not something we want to get involved with.

    How's that?

    1st- No.

2nd- A rated movie is viewable for a bigger audience, for. exx people 15 and older.so the cut some very tough scenes or sex scenes out of the film.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MPAA_film_rating_system

    3rd- Mostly yes.For exx:

Running time saw 3 unrated: 1:49.11 Min.
    Running time saw 3 r-rated: 1:43.39 Min.

The implication is that the unrated version of a film restores material that had to be removed in order to receive the desired rating. For example, some extreme violence or sex may be cut in order to receive an R rating in the US rather than the dreaded NC-17.

However, the term "unrated" simply means what it appears to. The film is not rated. Oftentimes a studio will submit a film to be rated before the theatrical release, DVD release, etc. Later on, the director may restore additional scenes to the film and release the "director's cut." The studio may not want to bother submitting the director's cut for a rating, and will release it as the "unrated version."

What bothers me about this situation is the implication that a film being "un-cut and un-rated" somehow implies extra sex and extra violence. For example, the other day I was watching the director's cut of Hellboy. There is a sticker on the front of the DVD package boldly proclaiming "over 13 minutes of unrated, recut, and extended action!" To be honest, none of the extra footage would have changed the original film's PG-13 rating. In that situation, the term "unrated" on the box cover only served to (in my opinion) falsely imply that something about the restored footage went above and beyond the limits of the initial rating.

There's my rant for the day.

If it's a sex or a gore movie, they probably shoot extra material intentionally for the unrated DVD version, with no plans to use it in the theatrical version.

It's more interesting with older movies that are not made in the US. Some of the good old Italian zombie or cannibal movies were butchered for the American release, and are now available on "unrated" DVD versions that are just the originally released Italian cut...

Why do people get the idea that a porn forum might be a good place to pirate movies?
