BobGratton put a link in the Vault (open to everyone), and it went dead after 298 dl's (probably because of lurkers) see here.

I uploaded a Vonny vid last night and got 20KB/sec, but my upload rate stinks (that's average for me).

The nice thing about it is that it constantly updates with the progress of your upload and the estimated time remaining.

Best to keep the links to contributers only,

Yeah its probably dead, but just to be more precise, I dont think anybody have been able to download it the number of downloads, in my case, seem insignificant.

Good luck with your upload Stewie69, we'll see if keeping the download requests lower (by keeping the link private) will solve things out.

I like it. I've tried it out a few times. I have been getting word that the links die out but also that if you still click on the download button, it will let you. I can't confirm that though so I may just keep the link for contributors only. If anyone can confirm or deny that even though the page says the link is dead but can still download, lets hear it.

    well,

My upload to MU didn't go so well. I uploaded a 200 MB file and it took nearly 10 hours.

Before sending the link out I tried to download the file, but I was getting rates of about 1KB/sec. I just recieved conformation about the 1KB/sec dl rate.

I'd bet that they didn't plan for the amount of traffic they're getting, hopefully they'll upgrade their servers. For now I'm gonna stick with YSI.

I have two MU files for testing, if anyone would like to test just send me a PM

    --edit:
OK... Just tested both files again, the first one (Vonny) down loaded fast -300KB+/sec, the second one (JJ - DLN) started out good at 70KB/sec then dropped to 35 and then froze...

Very strange... Think I'll try another upload before I jump to conclusions

    --edit2:
Just tried to upload it again, but only getting 1KB/sec... Looks like it's back to YSI

I first tried www.youshareit.com (see links in signature), then they changed to www.megaupload.com. Their speeds used to be great, but now whenever I download something, I get like 3kb/sec. And sometimes it just stops completely. :(

I agree with linusnc. The download speeds are terrible. I was trying to dl a 100 mb file and it was going to take 10 hours.

Yeah QFile for medium sized video seems like the best solution. Or a combination of QFile AND RS for video between 50 and 80 megs.

For larger files, i guess will still have to use YSI.

I just tried uploading a 80MB video to MU. It actually only took about an hour to upload. I was getting about 30 kbs I think. But then when I checked the download, I was only getting like 5 to 10 kbs. Really bizarre.
