  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

"Mega Threads" - "threads that contain a vast amount of vids from one site"

It just came to my attention that there is a rule that "mega threads" are not allowed on this forum.

Here's an example of this sort of thread - http://forum.phun.org/showthread.php?t=61947

Of course, I understand the reasoning for this rule - that the site might get pissed off and threaten legal action, so it's not a good idea to have these kinds of threads.

But, I couldn't find this rule anywhere on the official rules for this forum, only a reference to it in a minor thread with a non-informative title.

I suggest that, if this is an official rule of the forum, this rule should be added to the official Rules threads for the Video Vault (http://forum.phun.org/showthread.php?t=40915) to let everyone know, and to put everyone on notice that this is the rule, that mega threads are not allowed. e.g., I'm not a noob, but I didn't know this was a rule. I think this should be remedied to put everyone on notice of this rule.

    Thanks for considering this.

If it is there needs to be exceptions for the old sites that don't exist or don't update anymore. I tend to post a lot of those.

I don't think there should be any exceptions. Better to be safe - those sites that don't update anymore could still be running and having new customers coming in, and they still might get pissed if mega threads of their stuff are posted.

It's better to just split them up into multiple threads - it's not that much of an extra hassle for the poster.
