Maria Menounos to Wrestle at WWE SummerSlam Axxess this Sunday!

Maria Menounos is returning to WWE for a match at SummerSlam Axxess! The “Extra” TV host, who already has a WWE victory at WrestleMania XXVIII, will team with Natalya to take on Brie Bella and a partner of her choosing this Sunday, just prior to WWE’s summer classic.

The match was announced by Raw General Manager Brad Maddox via Twitter, several days after Nikki & Brie began trash talking their “Total Divas” costar, Natalya, and Menounos on Twitter, which prompted the in-ring encounter at SummerSlam Axxess.

Natalya’s invite for Menounos to come to SummerSlam as her guest initiated more mockery on the part of The Bella Twins, which, of course, led to an official challenge of a tag team match. The Bellas' acceptance didn’t exactly have Natalya shaking in her Louboutins, if the below tweet is to be believed.

If @nicoleandbri are so tough, Maybe they would like to tango with myself and @mariamenounos if Nikki is cleared. A #Total Diva has spoken!

The time for talking (and tweeting) is now over, and if Nikki isn't cleared to compete, Brie must find a tag team partner to face Menounos and her friend, former Divas Champion Natalya, at Axxess. Who will step forward to compete alongside the twin Diva? How will the SummerSlam Axxess match affect Natalya and Brie before their one-on-one bout at SummerSlam this Sunday?

So instead of actually having Maria Menounos wrestle on the SummerSlam PPV, they are having her wrestle earlier on in the day at SummerSlam Axxess? So the only way to see it is to be at SummerSlam Axxess? Lame.

 

I miss the good old days too. That was women's "wrestling" at it's finest.

All that stuff went out the window after Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction set the Christian rightwing family values moralists on the warpath and made the Bush era FCC capitulate to their demands. Fucking killjoys ruined broadcast TV.

 

I would kinda disagree with that. We got some good after the whole Janet Jackson thing. Melina wasn't even on WWE TV at the time. She didn't debut until 2005.

The after affects took a while to spread, I'll give you that. Lita had amazing assets from head to toe. I really liked that black top she wore. Was always hoping she'd spill out of it at some point. Must've been held in place with industrial strength adhesive.
