I've been crushing on these two for as long as I can remember, and I found this interview and I found it adorable so thought I'd share it. Short clip from an interview where Lea and Adele are talking about "Blue is the Warmest Color" and Lea messes up an English word and the two of them have a great laugh about it. The perils of doing an interview in a second language, I suppose, and I am always so impressed with people who can do this!

I'm surprised if Lea and Adele didn't go at it for real. In few scenes you see quite a lot and if those are prosthetics over real vaginas then who ever made them has fortune in making sex toys...

 

This. I feel that the scenes are genuine and they were simply told to dismiss any suggestions by media that they were so as to save face.

The biggest indication to me seems to be the vitriol both actresses had towards the director after the movie was completed. Lea especially.

 

Double this. It was a legit scene and they were either told to say it was simulated or did because they felt there would be a stigma attached to it. There are a few frames where you clearly see Adele's labia. Not only is it blatantly obvious there are no prosthetics, this was also a micro budget indy flick with no name people at the time. They aren't going to spend the money to do that or to cgi things when there were any number of unknown people who would have done it for real.

It's like saying 9 songs was using fake parts, cgi. And body doubles.

The director also has a long history of unsimulated acts. They knew what they were getting into when the signed up. It's just buyers remorse after the fact when they start to think it might negatively effect their career

 

Instead with 24/7 horny Internet that movie made both of them kind of icons in certain circles. Lea even has embraced doing nudity and sex scene work, she isn't shy to do full nudity and I would say it's rarer to have her movie without full nudity than with.

And yes, there is a reason why "Blue Is the Warmest Color" is considered to have hottest and best lesbian sex scenes in any "mainstream" movie to a date. Even if they are product of bit of an asshole director having them reshoot those scenes for week(s).
