Kylie Minogue to join The Voice (UK)

"Pop star Kylie Minogue will replace Jessie J as a coach on The Voice,
joining will.i.am and Tom Jones for the third series.
"I'm very excited," the Australian singer said.
"I love the concept of the show and have been an avid viewer of both series."
"Will I be competitive? Probably more than even I imagine! Watch this space!"
The pop star, whose hits include Can't Get You Out Of My Head,
has sold more than 68 million records worldwide.
Her sister, Dannii, has been a judge on both the UK and Australian versions of X Factor,
and has previously enlisted Kylie's help in coaching and selecting contestants.
"In terms of pop royalty, it really doesn't get much better than Kylie,"
said Moira Ross of The Voice UK's production company, Wall To Wall.
"With more than two decades of global success under her belt,
I know she'll bring something truly special to the coaching line-up."
The search to replace O'Donoghue continues, the BBC said.
Series three of The Voice begins in January 2014."

"Within hours of the announcement, rumours were circulating about the singer's salary.
One newspaper claimed she will net just £500,000 for her one-series contract on the popular BBC talent show
- far less than expected.
It was previously reported that she initially asked for £2.5 million, but a BBC spokesperson responded:
'We won't break the bank for anyone.'
Now, it's thought she settled for only a fifth of that in a bid to build her connection with the Great British public.
Although much-loved, Kylie's pop career has decreased in commercial success of late.
Her last three singles failed to set the charts alight, stalling at 93, 31 and 96 respectively.
Now, with a new management deal with RocNation, she is hoping The Voice
will be the perfect precursor to a new album.
If Minogue's salary is £500,000, it will match the pay-cheque Bruce Forsyth receives
for Strictly Come Dancing and twice what Tulisa received for her role on the X Factor.
A BBC spokesperson told MailOnline: 'We don’t comment on contractual arrangements with our artists
but what I can tell you is that her fee is in line with the other coaches, the budget for the show
has not gone up and it’s a one series deal.'
While Kylie, 45, is excited about the new role, some fans may see it
as her jumping on her sister Dannii MInogue's territory.
Dannii has forged a career out of being a TV judge on singing contests over the last few years,
starting off on The X Factor in Britain, The Voice's rival, and currently working on Australia's The X Factor.
Earlier today the brunette beauty - whose hit singles include This Is It, Put The Needle On It
and Jump To The Beat - tweeted: 'Big love and congratulations to my sister.' "
