  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads.     I know this is a well documented problem, but should we start considering permanent alternatives to YSI? Absolutely none of my links, and none of the links I've received, have worked in the last couple of weeks. It's just so damn frustrating, I'm about to actually pay for a rapidshare account.

    I just wanted to vent, but if anyone has any ideas for alternatives, let em rip in this thread.

    I was wondering if our content has marked us for usless links/servers. I have not been contacted by YSI with a warning, but when I complained about their service, I recieved an immediate respose. They aked me for examples of bad links. I waited until I had a link that was in an encrypted and innocently named file, before I responded. I sent them 3 bad links, and 2 weeks later, have yet to hear from them.
    I started using a proxy, and a fresh email address to test my theory of being "marked for crap", and after two failed attempts to upload encrypted RARs, I'm pretty much convinced there is no hope for them. I'm going to try some alternatives, but will be relying on RapidShare for awhile.

    Perhaps phun.org might want to consider turning the forum into a bit torrent tracker, that way no one is excluded. Any thoughts on that? SirCumAlot, Tommyboy?

    I really don't like torrents but here is a solution:

    Short Vids - rapidshare * quickfile * gigashare
    Long Vids - split on the files above * sharebigfile *

    Still no megaupload.

    I am open to letting you guys use a host that you find but if turns out like mu I will ban it. Also If you find a site that hosts a vid up to 250 megs and you have a large vid just split it in half and make it fit. But run it by me first because don't need a million sites on the forum and in case anyother hosts start blocking. Start changing your titles if it a pornstar or a site where you got it from. Change it to file001 or something so they don't catch on.

    whats the problem using rs/qf? additional work for file splitting? gone happy hours on rs? what is this against uploading 1 gig-files on ysi without success?

    all in all i think there are no long-term-alternatives for ysi, maybe except sexupload (the name says it, but even they have to act as little "illegal" as possible), cause it seems to be only a matter of time when these "regular" larger-file-hosters are going to check the content of files they got uploaded, there are a lot of legal issues they have to take care of (minor-protection, copyrights etc.).
    this filefront for example looked really good at first sight, but they seem to have deleted jenna_hazes file within 2 days.

    Well sharebigfile with a dl manger work good, sexupload is like megaupload and I really don't like it. On a side note even megaupload max is 250 megs unless you pay for membership. I say if your going to upload a 400 meg vid just split it in half and use a host like sharebigfile.

    Also again rename your files before uploading, they look for key words. After you dl you can always change it. That's why ysi is blocking because of the porn.

    I've always been an advocate of chaning the file name.

    It does indeed help a lot. However, RS encrypts their files, so if you try to upload a file that has been renamed, it will let ya know that the file already exsists or was black listed under another name.

    YSI does indeed seem to be going down the toliet. My last upload, which took over 2 hours went through, but the link was NFG from the get go.

    Then, YSI kept crapping out on me to try and reup it.

    TubroUpload seems okay. 70 MEG limit, though.

    Tommy is right about sexuploader, I checked and they can have unfuckinbelievable slow DL speeds. My fastest DL speed is usually a steady 157 KB/S, I was testin sexuploader and getting a DL speed of like 257, I was all happy and then seen it was 257 BYTES/S, less than 1 KB/S and estimated time remaining was a couple years. Once it a while it is decent, but normally, it is fusterclucked.

    FileFront seemed good, I did about a half dozen there, and one of mine got over 200 downloads, but for those who didn't see it on that other thread here is what I get there now:

    I had named this file pacman 727 so it would appear to be a game file (I thought) and it was up for a couple weeks, I am assuming after a lot of downloads they check it and put that type of mean thingie on there, the pigs.

    There are several hundred file storage sites and I am trying them all, uploading and downloading small vids, so I won't put one on a fucked up storage and make Tommy mad, or people who go to DL it and see fucked up DL speed.

    Maybe there is a good one, I will keep checking, everbody else keep checking, and Tommy knows we are not bitchin and moanin, but lookin for alternatives, I think.

    but you could use split archives..
    would be better for me because of 2 things: copyright infingment and I get to show more ads -> which I need to keep up the service and earn some bucks

    I will make file size limit 50MB within the next hours.. if this helps..

    You get the 50mb limit going and I have a Sophie Moon Full Movie to put up that is 622MB. I will split it into 13 parts and try your server out.

    Here is a report of the traffic on the last Sophie movie I posted 2 weeks ago. As you can see she's pretty popular. With these numbers, your server should well and truly be tested.

    Plus, websites know what OS & browser you are running and obviously they know your IP address. All these things can be changed/withheld to fool a website.
    An easy way to stop the "referer" is to paste the url in to Google and go from there. Then YSI sees Google as the referer an not a porn ;-) forum

    I have many pictures I would like to host on your service, but I can't upload them one at a time - can you provide me an alternative/exception?

    BTW, I just wanted to say I signed up for 1 month of rapidshare today and so far its been great. Florian, if you can match rapidshare's performance and download/upload speeds and NOT charge a fee, you will have a distinct advantage.
