  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

... from a slow one, before you give out the link:

When you upload a file to YSI, you get a URL that includes a "s36" or something before the ".yousendit.com" part of the domain name.

This is a direct URL to a specific YSI server. When you give the YSI link to a downloader, they will download the actual file from that server at a "d36" address. The "d" number always corresponds to the "s" number given back to the uploader.

I've noticed that some YSI servers are faster than others. In general, the lower the number, the faster -- particularly slow servers are "d49" and "d51." There are probably others.

If you are an uploader, you can warn people that your file is hosted on one of these troublesome servers. Or you can reupload and see if you get a better server. I'm not sure if you can pick a specific host server, but we can experiment.

If you are a downloader, look at this number, and if you get one of the higher numbers, especially 49 or 51, then you can expect a slow download. Not much you can do, other than choose to not download. But at least you'll know in advance.

If we really had our shit together, we could post and compare the average download rates we get from specific YSI servers, and how often the connection to that server was reset, and compile a rating list...

But I'd rather just watch porn.

  2. Thanks for the tip.

you got a point there bughunter, some servers seems to be more overloaded than others atleast during peak hours. I've downloaded vids from d49 servers at both 80K and at 3000K so it's not that the server is slow. It's just some are overloaded at times.

I know it sounds stupid but I've uploaded 130 MB video file to yousendit.com
and when I try the link it says already blocked WTF
I even get confirmation link with url

  9. It's because they have a max upload of 1 gig, so basically you uploaded for nothing and they didn't tell it was too big till you were finished.

edited already it was only 130 MB :(

  11. Well there are 2 kinds of errors.

Blocked - is either it's expired, reached the dl limit or you accidently hit remove link and blocked it manually.

Invalid Link - you get that when your missing parts or letters from the link.
