how do you make gifs?

im not a computer expert or very good at shoping ect. but i wanted to try out and make some gifs from videos i have but have no idea how to do it. is there some program you run or an instruction site that you guys use to learn how to make them?

You can make them online if you don't want to download software.

 

It's pretty easy if you have the right tools but it can take a while sometimes.
I use a program can Ulead Gif animator and Any Video Converter.

Steps are simple.

1. Edit down your clip to what you need only (use windows movie maker, adobe premiere or similar program)
2. Convert it to AVI format using Any Video Converter.
3. Open the video in Ulead.
4. Trim away any frames in the Ulead frame bar and test your GIF by playing it.
5. Save as GIF.


Make sure to use as little video as you can as Ulead will slow your computer down a ton if you use large clips.

 

thanks guys. ill try those tonight. im fairly imcompetent when it comes to all this type of stuff. i never even uploaded pics until i learned at phun. but after seeing haydaddict and the bosses cheryl gifs it peeked my interest into making them

 

Hmm ulead doesnt work on mine. dl it but says i need to pay 50 bucks top use it as my free trial has been used. and other gif makers dont work either ive tried to dl

I use Virtualdub to edit my clips but everything else he said is the same things that I do.

Not bad for a first attempt. I'd just change the speed and crop of the black bars.

i cant use ulead. i dl it but wouldnt work due to a license. says i would need to pay $$ to buy a non trial version

 

why is it so small?

I have no idea. Maybe that program automatically resizes them.

if u have a divx or mov file u can import it in photoshop:
File>Import>Video Frames to Layers...

and then activate the animation controls:
Window>Animation
