  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

I'm preparing my next thread and I'd like to put 2 full-sized pics in it. I followed the instructions of Rules and FAQ (HOW DO I POST FULL-SIZED PICS?), but when I preview the post, I see a little red x instead of pic. Any ideas about what should I do to fix this?
    Thanks.

1st tell us which imagehost u use
try imagevenue.com there are 2 ways i know:
a)after u have uploaded a pic click on it so u dont see all the codecs just the pic and copy the adress/url...now go to phun where u want to post it and click on the yellow icon..there u have to add the link
b)after uploading search the "direct link to image" and add it to phun...seems easier huh? :D

I use ImageVenue too. Thanks for help, but I'm still facing the same problem. By the way, after uploading the pic there are 3 options:
    1) Share with Friends via eMail or Instant Messanger
    2) Hotlink a clickable thumbnail on a Forum or Message Board!
and 3) Hotlink a clickable thumbnail on any Website or Auction!
    I've tried them all...

That's because none of those are a direct link to the image. You need the direct link. If you use firefox, go to the link where it says "Share with Friends via eMail" and right click on the image when you get to that page. Then click "Properties" and under "Image Properties" it will say the direct link to the image. If you use IE, right click on the image, go to properties and it will say the direct link under "URL"

Some image hosts do give you the direct link and it saves some time and confusion that way, but unfortunately for you, imagevenue isn't one of those hosts.

I think it's just imagevenue being homosexual. They worked a minute ago, and now they don't work.

That's strange indeed. I can't see them - I see the little red x instead once again... Maybe a moderator could help. Thanks for your help both of you anyway.

I find Filecloud the best for hosting full size pics. Sign up for a free account and you get 25mb of free space to upload files and images onto. You are able to create folders and sub folders, add and delete files etc.

Just make sure that you make your folders "Public" and your images "Public" when you upload them. It also works best with Firefox. Just hover your mouse cursor over your uploaded image and click "view" to get the url of your file. Copy and paste it with IMG tags in your post.
I've never had a single image not show properly in all the months I've been using it and images I uploaded months ago are still live. They won't die unless you delete them.
