The news comes after the UN was hit with a large-scale backlash for appointing the superhero as the face of Sustainable Development Goal 5, a campaign that promotes female equality.

Almost 45,000 people signed a petition asking the UN to reconsider their appointment of Wonder Woman, citing the fact that her “overtly sexualized image” does not reflect the organization’s empowering goals.

 

Sounds right. 45000 morons complaining that a fictional character is inapropriate to assume a non existant symbolic function in a bloated bureaucracy.
They have Angelina Jolie and Emma Watson who are wealthy actresses who pose and model for magazines and photographers and star in films where they are violent or violence occurs as special ambassadors but object to a drawing because its depicted in tight clothes and being violent.

 

People will always find something to complain and be offended by, wanting to make the boring lives more significant.

 

I'm surprised they didn't also complained about her being a Jew and serving in IDF...
