overrated movie... DC or should I say Zack fucked it up...again.

 

everything in pop culture for the past 20 years has been pretty much overrated, but I thought this was the best movie DC has done in a while.

 

Beautiful woman. I loved the movie and think it had more heart than almost every other super hero movie combined!

Wasn't directed by Zack, but he did cast her for BvS. I agree, the movie, while good, is being a little overrated.

 

A little overrated? Perhaps. IMO, good but not a great movie. From what I'm seeing, others really loved it.

No one fucked it up. It has reinvigorated the idea that a woman can be lead in a comic book movie that is successful. This movie has been decades in the making. Movie execs were very skeptical that such a movie could succeed. I think one was cited in the Sony leaks. $103M opening weekend and a Cinema Score of 'A' proved them wrong. On track to make $700+M internationally with a budget of $120M.

Patty Jenkins directed it. Did a good job.

Zack saw something in Gal that few (if any) people saw and thought she was right for the role. Gave her a shot when she almost quit the industry. He opened the door for a solo WW movie being made. Seeing the audience, critical, and financial response...he was right.

 

I thought the movie was decent. She's obviously beautiful, and they did a decent job of working around her limitations as an actress. Certainly my favorite DC movie since the Nolan Batman movies (and a lot less of a bummer).

She is simply delightful. Everything about her is happily infectious.

 

Zack was the producer and he did the story, so yeah, he had a huge influence on the movie. the thing that bothered me the most were the fight scenes. there were awesome, but it felt like they were cut short. there were no fluid motions, they were all cut out. I know that the director wanted to give us the illusion of how fast WW is, but why jump from scene from scene, instead combine them like, for example Faora from Man of steel. when she fights the soldiers in Smallville. she's fast, you can clearly see that, but you stay on the scene. you don't have a feeling like there's something missing.

p.s. how come there was no Artemis?

also, and here's a SPOILER so be warned.
the last fight scene with Ares and WW's powers... I mean what the fuck. that's just stupid. why would you give her those powers? The thing I loved about Wonder Woman the most (besides gorgeous looks) was her abilities, not her powers. she doesn't have heat vision, freeze breath or anything like that. she has strength and agility and that's what makes her awesome.

on the side note, yes I think Gal looks very good as Wonder Woman, but I wonder, why didn't they gave her blue eyes? Wonder Woman is known for her sky blue eyes. maybe blue eyes don't look on Gal? I dunno.

 

Zack didn't write the story, he basically outlined it. As producer, he makes sure that the story fits within the plans of the DCEU. Allan Heinbergy wrote the story/screenplay.

If you have an issue with the fight scenes, then your issue is with how Patty directed them. It was basically her vision as Zack was busy with other things at the time. He was basically a consultant and not involved in the day-to-day directing. Patty was more focused on the character buildup of Wonder Woman, a homage to Donner, as well as comedy. She tried to juggle a lot of things in the movie and make it work. She doesn't have any experience directing action movies of this caliber.

Artemis was in the movie, but there was only a brief glimpse. She was played by Anne Wolfe. Some would argue she was among the few that was actually built like an Amazon. In a story about the growth of Wonder Woman and her becoming less naive about the real world of mankind, she was considered to be a minor character.

They took her origin from the comics (and played a bit with one version of her origin). She is a demi-God. She has powers, but not at the level of Superman. She has been flying (regularly) since Crisis on Infinite Earths and in the animated movies. She's not going to fly like Superman, but she can hold her own in combat. If Superman didn't hold back, it wouldn't be a contest.

Wonder Woman is known for being a strong female character. That is the most important aspect of the movie. What Gal genuinely exudes - beauty, graciousness, charm, fierceness, etc. is why she was cast and why Patty soon loved her in the role after initially being apprehensive. Patty normally likes to cast the roles herself. The color of her eyes are trivial.

 

overrated my ass. Whats overrated is most of the MCU movies coming out. DCEU is UNDERRATED. Especially MoS and BvS. You should be ashamed with that profile pic. Or is it a troll profile pic because you are a disguised MCU troll
