Found phun, a couple questions.

Hi there. I was looking through my referral list on my free image hosting site, www.ChefHost.com and found www.phun.org Apparently a few members here use my services to host their images.

I have an abundance of porn, a dedicated server with a burstable connection, 2TB of barley used monthly bandwidth, and a shitload of unused domain names so here I am.

I love community driven smut sites like this so I decided to contribute. I tossed up a quick index page and gallery script at www.FoShiz.biz. I plan to upload a weekly video for viewing/downloading. They will range from 30-300 MB each depending on the clip. I plan to control access much like members here handle the YouSendIt links. I have the gallery itself on an .htaccess lockdown and I plan to post up the new movie details each week then hand out the current week's password via PM much like links are handled now. I will be changing the access password each week when uploading the new movie.

My questions are as follows:
1. Does my plan seem OK regarding the PHUN.ORG general rules?
2. What would be the best way to distinguish between the beggers and the good contributors?

Any feedback and help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

In my opinion, how ever you feel like contributing to the board is fine by me. Only thing is that you might want to also post on the board, becaue people will see your lack of threads and may not be willing to share back, unless you make a name for yourself doing what you plan on doing. Hell I wouldn't turn a password away though, welcome to the forum!

mmm, one way - usually good contributors wont PM you for links, they assume you will acknowledge their contributions, and will msg them yourself

Thanks for the advice. Like I said, I just found this place yesterday and wanted to contribute. I will send you a PM as well with access info and would appreaciate feedback in this thread. I will create an official proper thread in a few hours in the vault for this weeks vid.

 

1. click on user's name replying to your thread
2. click on "View public profile" on the drop down menu
3. click on "Find all threads started by user"

this will filter out all the comments left everywhere
and just show which threads they started themselves.
You can look at a few and see what they posted.

At the top of any page,
1. click "Search"
2. click "Advanced search"
3. Under "User name" enter the name you're interested in
4. Under the user's name, click the down arrow and select "Find threads started by user"
5. Select the Video Vault forum in the box below if you just want to know about vid posters
6. click "Search now"

Thank you, that's a great method. Forgot all about being able to view "thread started by user" option. Jeeze, I own and admin enough vB forums I should slap myself...lol

I just need to wait for a response/approval from site staff as to my delivery method then I will get the ball rolling and start submitting.
