    Let me get this right. They're coming out with an NCIS: LA? The nearest US Navy bases are Pt Mugu and Seal Beach. Long Beach Naval Station and MCAS El Toro were closed in the early 90's, There are small facilities but nothing major in the LA area. The two largest navy/marine corps bases on the west coast are in San Diego and Oceanside. So why isn't it NCIS: SD?

    I'ts probably because who would watch the show if it's in San Diego, LA would get a much better audience. It's like if CSI: NY would have been titled CSI: Flatbush, would you bother watching that? ;)

    the reason its in LA for is because you had a two episodes in season 6 that contained Louise Lombard and Danieka Ruah in them, the episodes were called Legend

    She was good in the Season 6 NCIS episodes. Sexy 'n' tough. Have to see how the show plays out.

    That largest Naval base in the world is in Norfolk...but NCIS is based in DC...

    Besides, it is TV...why does it have to make sense??

    I would (for any of the options above). But the _ 12 million people in the LA or NYC metorpolotian area definately would not.
    Actully 1st NCIS was a spin off from JAG. JAG was a slow to start (and even had a network change) with following series, and still never got really high ratings.
    Yes this will be an interesting show to see how it does.
