Why not make it like a database?

Every celeb gets their own thread, so then everything is kept together

 

Would be a total mess.
I go to another board that does this, it works great there because it isn't as big as phun.

 

It wouldn't work. Think of celebs that get posted 4-5 times a week, the threads would be cluttered and finding a certain post you're looking for would be harder than doing an advanced search here.

 

I rarely check the xray thread but when i do its jumped 20 pages. what if i want to look for a great pic of a thread i never go into. it would take forever to locate it. i like new posts. its so much easier to run through phun this way.

 

All the new pics of each celeb will be on the last page of each thread

 

yes, but what if you don't look at it often and then want to look for a Hayden panettiere picture in a thread 350 pages long?

The only problem is amount of pics posted could be overwealming.
But that's only in the rules of play.
If the threads was kept only for members work (commercial work and newsgroup pics excluded) then the thread would work.
Problem is, this would not last long and other stuff would flood in killing the whole idea.

But to answer zanman, different forums operate in different manners. If we copied everybody else or everybody else does everything the same way then what would make us any different? Why not just merge all the forums together and get rid of individuality? The reason why it is done in such a manner is because anybody can do a search of a specific celebrity event rather quickly rather than looking through an entire 200+ page thread trying to look for a specific picture of that celeb at that particular moment.
