  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

Banning of resurrecting 2 week old threads makes searching the forums harder

The policy banning the re opening of old threads means that many threads are opened on the same topic. This makes it very difficult for people to find what they are looking for when searching these forums because they must manually trawl through many threads on the same topic instead of finding eveyrthing on that topic in one or a few threads. I think phun.org should consider changing this rule.

For example: someone posts a thread about a video with a link to rapidshare.

After some time the link is broken. Instead of posting a new link in the old thread he has to post a new thread. This happens a few times. Then when someone searches for that video in the forums, he finds 20 threads on it and has to open and through them one by one to find a working link. It causes duplication and is inefficient.

That is all well and good if every thread that had a broken link and was bumped had a new the link replaced.

To follow your point through there could be a tonne of bumped old threads with old broken links with the last post being from someone who never contirbuted, has three posts, and 2 of them are "link not working, re-up please".

For some reason you felt the need to bump a nearly year old thread, not with a "Link Down" comment, but a request for content and then immediately followed that up with a request to re-up some content.

The rule is clear, Do not bump or resurrect threads older than 2 weeks.

If a thread that is older than 2 weeks has an issue, don't post a comment about it, send a PM to the original poster or Thread creator.

If the a link is down, the OP can insert the new link in the post and then He can post a comment about new link added.

New content or updating of content is permitted after 2 weeks.

I would like links to some of your examples, because I am unaware of this issue even being an issue.

Depends on the thread and the forum, but in general I would say yes, OP only
