Ariel Winter's Estranged Mother Criticizes Her Breast Reduction

Modern Family’s Ariel Winter has proudly exhibited the results of her recent breast reduction surgery, scars and all, and good on her. But now her estranged mother, Crystal Workman, has come forward to criticize her decision.

According to Page Six, Winter, who is 18, “revealed [last June that] she had reduced her cup size from a 32F to a 32D.” Workman tells Inside Edition that this decision was wrong-headed.

“I don’t think anyone at that age should be cutting into their breasts,” Workman argued. “I am surprised she did it so young and that the doctor did it for her so young.”

She moreover disapproves of Winter’s willingness to bare her scars.

“I’m sorry, I just think this is inappropriate,” Workman said to IE. “She should never be embarrassed of her scars, but she shouldn’t be flaunting them.”

Winter was granted emancipation from her mother in May 2015, just before turning 18. In 2013 she “battled her mom in court...and accused her of physical and emotional abuse.” Workman tells Inside Edition that she, in fact, was the one physically abused and is currently being emotionally abused.

“I have been physically abused, and I believe all of this is emotional abuse. Ariel should ask herself, ‘has Ariel ever raised a hand to her mother? Has Ariel ever done anything she’s ashamed of to her mother?’”

Presently, Winter refuses to engage her mother. One of her representatives has merely said, “Ariel is happy and in a good place. No further comment.” Winter has, however, previously gone in the record to say that Workman was “an overbearing stage mom” who forced her into the spotlight rather than attending to her needs and providing emotional support.

 

Arie and her mom were never on good terms.There have been articles of physically and emotionally abusive as well. I remember reading that her mom was causing a scene back when Modern Family first started. Both Sarah Hyland and Ariel look up to Julie Bowen and they all seem pretty close in interviews.Who really knows what's going on with that family.

 

She's a stupid woman who just wants to get a few minutes of notoriety. This is the only way she knows how.

 

Wasn't her mom rumored to be shopping nudes of Ariel several years ago?

 

I never heard that rumor if it's true she must be the dumbest mom on the planet considering Ariel was a minor at the time.

Not exactly. When Ariel split from her mother she went to live with her older sister Shanelle Workman-Gray. Her mother was said to be shopping nudes of Shanelle to media outlets and there was some legal action on the matter. However what she was doing was telling people that Shanelle had participated in an S&M themed shoot and said this proved she was an unfit guardian for Ariel. Still pretty crappy, and of course control of Ariel's money was the key issue no doubt so the whole thing was pretty bitter.
