alternative to rapidshare/imageshack/..

So we have to save both the link and the code at the same time to retrieve our data?

How long will your site host the file for? What is the download speed? How many downloads can the file be accessed?

no.. either one of them..
after uploading a picture you will even get html and bb code for hotlinking the thumbnails..

the only limits are: 25mb max filesize and that file will get deleted after 40 days of inactivity (no downloads for 40 days)..
as im told: its on a 100mbit line

Registration is not needed but it is possible to..

coming soon: functions like starting a project (for example upload lots of pics and then get all the html/BB code at once), a private folder, password protection for files....

The site is ad-supported.. there are 8 textlinks on most pages

can your server accept unzip or unrar'ed files. What about .wmv .mpeg or other video files?

also is that 100kbs download for that file or is it 100kbs shared? Maybe you can upload a video and post a link for us to download and test.

What is the copyright infringement laws in the netherlands? And do you also do webhosting? Cause if there is no copyright laws in the netherlands i might want to use your server to webhost for me.

 

actually the netherlands dont have the "copyright" itself but something similar to it: "Auteursrecht" wich means basicly authors rights..
I live in Austria, and we have a copyright too.. "Kopierrecht"...
And even there are not a lot of lawsuits against people because of copyright infringment I do not have the intention of supporting it ;-) I just want to make this clear .. since I really really really do not support copyright infringment. Thats why I will finish the "report a file" submission today.. the "person" reporting a file will have to fill in his FULL NAME, BIRTHDATE, VALID E-MAIL, and a reason why I should have a look at the file..

about hosting I would have to talk to my partner.. I can not decide this myself.. and you should icq me about that ;-)

 

download averages about 60kbs. not a bad rate. and the service went straight to the download file withouthaving to wait. Not a bad service as long as it is stable.

I wish i can get my icq to work. If you have either aim, msn or messenger we can get in touch.

 

I dont have em.. but will install msn-messenger.. within the next 2 hours or so.. I'm gonna stay up all night anyways ;-) its 1:16 AM here..

only 60kbs :-( what kind of inet-connection do you have?
I usually only get 200kb/sec downloads from other servers..
my maximum for my server was 250kb/s ;-) my connection wont go faster..

server should not have a problem with a couple thousand requests a second..
I study computer science.. so I know what I script ;-)

 

mine is a 1.5 meg line with a true downloadspeed of 150-160kbs. All i was able to get was average of 60kbs download speed. We will see how well it works once we get other people to try it.

With my download manager I just got a 157 KB/S DL speed which is max with my DSL connection.

Only suggestions I would make for Florian is give me a "upload up to 5 images" so I don't have to do one at a time and increase the 25 meg per file limit up to 50 megs, then it will equal rapidshare AND allow screenshot image hosting on ONE site.

 

I'm currently working on a free members section which will include uploading zip files of images and getting all the code at once ;-)
I will also think about normal multible-file upload

all kind of suggestions are more than welcome ;-)
