activation email problem...

hi guys,
at last... 1 week after registering i am allowed to create my first post.
well heres what happened,
i signed up to this forum last week, but i didnt receive my activayion email to my gmail address, so i waited 2 days.
then i came back to this forum, and went to user CP and changed my email address to a hotmail one and thought i may receive an activation email but i never, and i did check all junk mail aswell, but nothing.
so finally i managed to contact wtfazzhole (thanks buddy) and he asked one of the admin staff to activate my account.

well i have a suggestion, for other people who may be having the same problem.
for admins: check all the newly regestered members and see if any of them have made posts, if they have 0 post counts, then it is highly likely that there either having the same problem as me, or they ar ejust timewasters
either way its worth a try, and i hope you can sort the problem out as its a real nightmare.

i think it's pretty unrealistic to check all newbie accounts (this forum has over 160k members)
until the 48h day will be invented

 

i understand but this is a big problem,
is something going to be done about it really?
or are u just waiting to lose new members?

the problem is all around us, and i really do think something should be done about it fast, cause its a shame for all the nem members who really want to contribute to this forum, but are not allowed to

 

i've run into this kind of problem at other forums, and try to sign up with other accounts and so forth and still don't receive the email, til finally i just give up. it maybe a problem with the mail server, other then that probably the only thing someone can do is contact the forum.
