She spent a decade at the top of a tough sport, but didn't get as much credit as she deserved; but gets put on her arse twice & people just won't leave her alone..!! Like to see some of you people who continually jab at her have the balls to get in the octagon with her just once... See how you get on..!!??

 

She was overrated and has since been exposed as a flat track bully.

 

Never overrated. She was the best in the business for her run. Competition just got better around her.

People (including myself) hate on her not because she wasn't a good fighter because she certainly was (though not as good as some people claim) but because she was hyped up so much by herself and the UFC to the point where she thought she could fight guys too. Then when she finally did lose, not only was it in a spectacular fashion, she hid away from the spotlight and refused to do interviews/press conferences or face up to the fact she lost.

Then when she did re-appear after over a year away, instead of being more humble she still had that arrogant "look at me" attitude, didn't have to do any press for the fight and then got wrecked in less than a minute by a far better fighter.

I'm no McGregor fan, but at least when he lost to Diaz he didn't slink away and cry about it.

 

That's true. She handled her losses very poorly. No sportsmanship whatsoever.

That said, I don't recall her ever saying she would fight guys. I mean, she's spoken out against male-to-female transgender fighters fighting in the women's division, so I can't imagine she ever thought she should go up against men.

 

Mm yeah after a quick look on Google, it seems it was actually people like Joe Rogan and other UFC staff saying they thought she could take on male fighters/boxers. My mistake. But even so...

15 minutes? She was a top draw for years in the UFC and will go down as one of the greatest women to ever fight, regardless of what happened in the last two years, what the fuck are you talking about?

 

She was a one-trick pony with her arm bar. Unfortunately, her opponents thought they could fight HER game. The first time someone didn't rush in and get submitted, but rather engaged in some true MMA stand up fighting, she got her clock cleaned....

 

I barely know how she is on the account of not following MMA. So in my case she really is a case of 15 minutes. All im saying is it depends what your knowledge of her is.

 

Dude you have no idea what you're talking about. Ronda was the best in the game, period. Nobody could touch her. There was nothing one-trick about her; three of her last four wins were by KO or TKO.

The problem with her is that she didn't improve enough in her standup while the rest of the division's striking got way better. That's it.I also question her priorities as she got more into acting and just being famous, because she's taken some shots in her career, and suddenly she no longer had a chin. Makes me think she stopped taking fighting as seriously as she should have.

 

Regardless of the holes in her game, she is a far cry from "15 minutes of fame", save that status for these reality stars that are famous for no goddamn reason.

 

That's silly. If someone doesn't watch movies, they could say that about any big screen actor. Fame is by its nature an artifact of public consciousness, not individual experience.
