Yeah, I know (I remember the "summer" one) And I took it to be specific - Resident Evil... not Resident Evil: Extinction or whatever the last one was called.

either the first game or the first movie match the title, the sequels don't.

So what I'm saying is from now on if a title does exactly match something then that should be taken to be the theme.

 

If i would pick "Die Hard" and don't mention anything else then imo "Die Hard", "Die Hard 2", "Die Hard: With a Vengeance" and "Die Hard 4.0" would be good to choose from. If i pick "Sasha Grey non nude" any pic where Sasha isn't nude in goes.

 

I have to go with Cold in this.. as the words "Resident Evil" is in all movies and games and whatever..

not all themes are meant to be that specific.. like Nudity, which could contain nudity of both male and female bodies. However if you send in a photo of a truck then it wouldn't be allowed.. like this time, if someone would have sent in a sig witch would be a scene from the movie Die hard.. that would be a no go.

would you want it to be like if the winner want the theme to be .. tractors.. does he then have to write how many and what types there would have to be to be allowed


and the first rule is
Create a sig that is applicable to the weeks theme.

Create a sig that is exact as the weeks theme.

 

Course not. many themes are by definition very open. if "tractors" was given as the theme it isn't specific. If a guy wanted to see only Massey-Fergusons in the sigs he say so

:2cent: Just where there's an exact match to the title of something then it should be just for that (obviously this mostly applies to games and movies). If you're not pushed about it being specific then just go with something like "Die Hard movies", "Final Fantasy universe", "Halo franchise" etc.

and I've been forced to add a new addition to the rules, don't say or give clues to which entry is yours in the future..

 

imo if merlin would have wanted it to just be about the first movie or first game then the theme would have read "Resident evil first movie or game".

over the years there have been a few surprises for me where someone have come up with something totally unexpected to an answer to a theme.. and after a bit of thinking I realized that they were true. Like for an example, the theme is David Hasselhoff.. if someone makes a sig of the guy on the left I couldn't turn it down



since his name really is David Hasselhoff too


How do you others feel about this? should the theme be precise if not stated otherwise, or should it be precise only if stated so?

 

Wasn't intended to give away which might be mine, any clue was unavoidable in the circumstances. And I thought the winner was a foregone conclusion anyway as the previous time I checked the votes there was a clear leader (not #1)

btw not like it has never happened before that some clue was given to which entry might be (or is) by a poster. If an entrant comments on the sigs that week they can obviously only be talking about ones that aren't theirs..... in some cases this isn't just a clue, it directly says which one is theirs. This has happened a few times that I can remember.

Welllll he does match the theme so it has to be acceptable It's a bit of an extreme case though, not likely that this exact thing would crop up in reality.

Remember the summer one right? The theme was given as just "summer", that IS ambiguous and you have to accept (as I did) that someone might think of using Summer Glau and not go with the season. I learned my lesson ---- be more specific.

.....so this week, I hope nobody is gonna try to use any of the other pics (or the fake!!) of Natalie Portman from that thread

Seriously I was wondering how long it would take before someone noticed that someone was talking about their sig, and complained about it.. (complained is the wrong word .. but close enough) I should have added the rule when I found out that it wasn't against the rules to actually say which one belongs to you. anyway, most of us artists can recognize each others styles so it's not a total secret anyway.. but I guess it have to be added anyway for the sake of the game.


No, you are free to talk about your own sig, to say anythign you want about it, just not say that it is yours or what you made

Just gave the Hasselhoff thing as an example of what could happen, and you are right abut the summer theme too, same thing there. But be specific to a point.. if you get too specific it will just be ridiculous.

if you have any questions about the theme or wonder anything this is a good place to ask about it

see there is a clue, don't use those pictures folks

Congrats TO, expected you'd win as soon as I saw which pic you'd used.

Was hoping to see more variations done with that pic, see how people voted based on small differences in how the sigs were handled (type colour etc) but oh well..... off to check on who Jenni Gregg is
