I will not deny him his right to make silly threads I will just post my little videos expressing my opinion. I do think though that we should have a discussion thread for the things that have changed how we can discuss things. We are in another time period with there being more of a discussion on the concept of open source and even more of a discussion of copyright.

 

I would sooooo damn buy that!

And I'd buy an extra one as an xmas present for TKA.

And another one if Billy will get a bonus page, on his three wheeler only wearing a thong!

I have no problem with his 'right' to post but don't expect people not to ridicule some of the absolute crap he's been posting. Maybe instead of just saying 'sure, go ahead, post anything you want as long as it's in the rules' a better way might be to give him a little guidance about what will and won't be well received or places to post his thoughts or possibly how to make an omnibus PLAYBOY musings thread... but then I'm not a mod so what do I know.

I dare say hate isn't the appropriate word, but you can probably see that a lot of people are finding this trend of threads somewhat tiresome. We all get that you like some of the celebs on the boards (like the rest of us) and that you have an obsession with Playboy, but there isn't really a need to start these type of topics all the time and making similar posts.

And, 'let him post whatever he wants as long as it's within the rules' ... bit of a mixed message.

 

An Alex Morgan/Solo Hope dual would not make an all time PLAYBOY seller but would do wonders for NEW YORK TIMES, PEOPLE and the CLEVELAND PLAIN DEALER.

Or as a forum leader you could do the same if you feel strongly about something. Members are allowed to give guidance and advice to other members you know. In fact, that's what a caring community does for one another. Every little peccadillo shouldn't require mod intervention if a thoughtful and helpful solution can be provided by a more experienced member. I don't believe fences make for good neighbors, I feel just the opposite.

On a completely different subject.

My dad's house was knocked down last year in an effort to rebuild an entire community which had run down a bit. The houses were very old and the people in the area had no community spirit. Most of them didn't know anyone who wasn't next door to them.

So the houses were knocked down and new houses built. When everyone was moved back in the decision was made not to build fences or gates in any front garden. The entire front of every street is road leading to open garden and then front door. The community now is in a far better state. Most of the families in it (same people) now get along great and comminucate with each other. Neighbours even cut each others lawns without being asked to. A couple help out with gardening and most people take to keeping the place clean and ordely.

Just shows was something simple like removing barriers can do. Takes away the idea of this is mine and you'd better stay the fuck off it.

 

You're not obsessed with the magazine? Are you kidding me? Do you even know what the word obsession means? I think somebody posted the definition on here. You might want to go read it. You also might want to read the post that spider made about how many times you've said the word playboy just for July. Yeah go read that and tell me you're not obsessed with playboy. Every damn word that comes out of your mouth is playboy this, and playboy that. She needs to pose for playboy. It would be nice if she posed for playboy on EVERY damn thread you go post in. Attacked unfairly? I don't think so. When you do nothing but come on this website and talk about playboy it is very annoying and I think we're all getting a little sick and tired of it. At least I know I am. Let me say this really slow so even you might be able to understand it. When...you're being...as...annoying...as...you...are...when...every...word...that...comes...out...of...your...mouth...or...every...thread...that...you...make...has...to...do...with...playboy...than...you...deserve...every...little...bit...of...getting...attacked...the...way...that...you...do... and it has nothing to do with whether people like you or don't like you.

 

I wasn't aware I was a 'forum leader' but sure, why not. Ok, here goes...

To the OP,
Continuous posting of individual threads about any trivial subject that happens to cross your mind is NOT well recieved by members, there are established threads for these things (Inuk's Igloo comes to mind) as they are really just random musings you want to chat about. If you REALLY feel a need to post musings about PLAYBOY and who should or shouldn't be in it a better approach would be to start a single thread with a title like 'People who should be in PLAYBOY' and post all of your thoughts on the subject there and if anyone wants to discuss it with you they will. THINK about the subject when you are about to open a new thread and really consider if it is something that the community here at Phun would feel is relevant or interesting, you can take as your guide what threads are getting the most hits and posts. Oh and continuously putting PLAYBOY in all caps is probably going to aggravate people, it's jarring to the eyes and won't win you any converts.

While visiting my sister in Chicago I found it so refreshing to rediscover the very thing you speak of. Folks have front porches they sit out on everyday, saying hello to passing neighbors and waving at folks walking down the street. There was even a block party while I was there (an annual event every summer) and it was readily apparent everyone on the block knew one another and were happy to spend the day together, catching up or just continuing their daily discourse. Neighbor hoods like that are rare in western US cities where everyone hangs out in their backyards (or gardens as you call them) hidden away from the rest of the neighbors. Moving to my new neighborhood in Phoenix it was an instant disappointment having lost that sense of local community. I envy my sister and your dad.

Works for me. You might want to put it in a PM though, make it more personal. Might even want to say Hi sometime, ask him where he's from, what he does for a living. you know, show some interest in the individual. He may be more responsive to that sort of treatment.
