are you guys still using Topaz to convert photos to drawings? This one is really really good.

can you post full sized photo vs applied effect versions of these?

Yeah, a bit of topaz was applied, can't really remember 'though, since i was Uber drunk...

Sorry, it kinda goes against Phun Guidelines, so i won't post the whole image, hope you understand...

But here is one where i used said effect to a great Result, imho...

 

Nice work Manray. I find Topaz can really screw up a face so quite a good thing to do is copy your main image to a new layer, apply it, and then remove some of the Topaz layer on the skin areas (particularly around the face) with a soft brush eraser.

New one , 2 hours work roughly, 35 Layers...

 

I like all of it except the background area under the txt. The texture disappears too completely. I understand the idea of muting the background texture to ensure legibility of the name, imo, you went a bit too far. Maybe leave 33-50% texture behind the MR instead of darkening 85-90%?

Just a thought.

Also, You overlaid the background on the front of her hair which is toward the light source, leaving an soft hairline. On the shadow side you gave her a highlighted hairline as tho it was on the light source side, isnt this backwards? Shadowside has a soft, muted hairline overlaid with the texture and the lightside has the hard hairline shine? If the idea is to have a second light source behind her of lesser intensity, then you need the hard hairline up higher as well by the lighter top background. IDK, was just looking at it. -cy

I liked what ManRay was doing with his initials in the sigs he is making so I decided to try that in some I recently made. I would like some input on these. And again I am reposting these by Imagebam for those who don't have the ability of seeing them over picturescream.

been working on this old film effect for a while, didn't really plan on making a gif with it but that's how it worked out. could do with a bit of improvement though
