    I cut my videos into gif-sized clips (100-250 frames) using virtualdub but keep it the original size. Then I do what's posted here:

    Brilliant help from all, cheers guys! I can get my finger out now & hopefully start posting more instead of spending time testing & retesting. You lot have set the bar pretty high & it's not easy keeping up but I'm enjoying the challenge.

    I'm a big fan of this thread. And I know I don't make the best gifs but it has taken me awhile to get where I'm at now. In the not to far future I'm going to try Mr. SeanMcKenna's way of extracting the images with KMP player. Until then I hope my contributions are adequate.
