I think for a gift sig, a nice border can do half of the work. Have a look at these designs (NOT MINE):

I mean even if cropped and just add text, a sig can look wonderful with a nice border design. And if the border is pre designed, it can be reused and accelerate gift sig design.

So if we can make and contribute borders (in PSD files), we'll have a big database to be used. I have a layered PSD but it's 400*150, I wonder if anyone is interested in collaborating this out in 550*160

I like the first one. I went through a stage of that type of border a while ago.

But I don't get what you're trying to do here. The border would have to match the sig/crop wouldn't it? All the borders above were designed into the sig and most likely wouldn't suit a random sig.

Sorry they're not my designs, I didn't point it out clearly but I post them just to share an idea.

irish-sid I get your point, indeed those works are fancy but if you look at them, you'll see they can be served as templates:
1st: those decos can be clipping-masked, and move to fit sig size. Ditto for 2nd and 4th.
3rd and 5th: just match up colors.

If not this complicated, we can do borders into exactly 550*160.
