oohh im sure hes made a many of messes to those pics already. but much like billy is with Avril, Haydaddict gets "territorial" with hayden. shes gone up in my book with this latest bikini pics, i would do so many perverted things to her, haydaddict would cook me and have roasted pig for dinner if i said it

I think your right on or very close to your rendition of Haydens attributes. Unless, of couse she has gillian anderson or farrah fawcett nips. I havent seen them either and shes rarely nippy. Thanks for sharing

 

Well reason I ask isnt to critique your work, its so I can understand the process better. Especially with the image history, ill be able to understand everything that was done, that way I can try to do better myself.. no matter how many times I reread the tutorial, I must be missing something, because the colorization never comes out close. I am a visual learner, so having a psd file would help me make sense of all the required layers and such.

I don't think image history is saved with the project. I do the colorization all by eye - I adjust the hue, saturation, and lightness till it looks right to me. Getting the brightness set initially is the most important I think - I usually will desaturate a test layer of the surrounding skin I want to match before getting ready to colorize the working layer. Once I do that I then desaturate the working layer and then adjust the brightness till the darker areas appear the same shade of gray. Once you've got a match (without any color) then applying colorization is a pretty simple step of moving the hue & saturation to match. Any areas that need to be lighter can be dodged slightly to add highlight without affecting the entire layer.

 

ill give things another shot, ill do step by step from your tutorial but with the hayden pic, ill let you know where I get stuck

c-through... give the hayden pic a shot with following your tutorial back from the university.. I got lost with all the layers, because I think I wasnt sure which one you are refering to. Where I got lost mostly was where you taking the breast outline, and feather it, mine still shows up with the original shirt color, where as yours appears to have taken the hue adjustment, even though the hue was done after..

You were right, a psd doesnt save the history, which sucks, although it does save all the layers, so that may still help me get a grasp of all the layers and which one is which...

The difference in the Hayden pic and the Jen pic in the tutorial is the Hayden pic has more transparency and doesn't rely on revealed surface features. When you can effectively "see through" the clothing in this pic, it doens't require a lot of the steps & techniques outlined in my tutorial. You'll also find that when doing this, each image has to be treated a little different since the lighting, clothing, and subject matter can be unique to each image. This is why you can't x-ray a pic solely based on adjusting values by the numbers the same way each time - you need to just do it by eye.

The techniques used also need to vary based on photo conditions - some will require more brightness & contrast tweaks, while others (especially bright colors) will need to have the saturation cut down significantly before adjusting the brightness & contrast as that can magnify the colors and mask any hidden details. Altering the hue can also sometimes reveal features that may not be evident initially. Light (or mostly white) fabrics typically need brightness reduced before contrast can be increased, and dark colors are usually the opposite.

On your layering question, there are very few involved in this case. I made the initial clothing layer to isolate the top from the rest of the pic, and then started adjusting the levels to create the BCS image which allowed me to outline the areolas for further enhancement & colorization separate from the rest. In this case, I saw no need to outline the breasts in a similar fashion to the tutorial since the bikini top already isolated the breasts quite nicely and provided enough shading below.

new to this forum & kinda new to "x-rayin" i thought i'd show some of my work, criticize away. I'm always looking to improve.

None of my images are Burned or Dodged. Not that i'm against it, i kinda suck with it & i don't want to get into the debate about real or fake. some of the best x-rays come out using those tools to accentuate what's already their but whatever. I only use BCS, Levels, Shadow & Highlight, Selective Color (rarely), Noise Reduction (rarely), & Unsharp Mask

I don't tag my images & the only username i use on forums is some form of umop3pisdn ( upsidedown ) feel free to post my edit's anywhere, all i ask is just give credit where credit is due
