Phunners ORIGINAL Collages & Edits

With all due respect, Although the other thread started out with tons of shit from the internet..........These two threads have become almost exclusively posts from people on here.........the stuff off the net and finds from the net..........have almost disappeared.........So maybe 2001 will agree to allow the title of this thread........to stand.........AND merge the two ........they are one in the same..........curious to why there are no thanks on the other thread by those in here....We all obviously like the same stuff..........

I agree with SilentB. This particular thread is great for those who like to create. I started two other threads for that same purpose. Genuinely, people have different ideas on creativity. If you look at all the work posted in this thread, it has a great deal of effort put into it. In my opinion, the others do not. That is why some much get buried and why I rarely post in those other threads.
In other threads/posts, most people crop images for sigs, walls, avatars, etc. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but it undermines what I and some believe to be true creativity. Here, we post what we believe to be good "start-from-scratch" imagining edits.
I just wish more "Phunners" would take interest and comprehend the effort put into the work that is posted here. But that's ok, I like the little "Phun Clan" we have here. We know and appreciate what gets posted here.

 

Whoa! Just a friendly note: I created my thread BEFORE there was a Creative Backyard! Pay attention, gang! I put it in General. I had nothing to do with it being in the CB! One day I woke up and it was here! Take it easy, everyone. Just make good art for chrissakes!

 

My motives were only positive...Someone commented about having more traffic.......And Silly me.....I'm sorry for thinking two similar threads should be one.....I now realize how totally different they actually are......I apologize for offending anyone...I never meant to cause such a stir.....And I didn't mean to be "patronising" to anyone...Let's let it be..

Now, back to the business of posting edits/walls, etc. I just discovered this baby. Chikiata. Embrassing, probably. But I will have to make up for it creating stuff with her in it....

I don't care for mass-posts of edits found and collected on the netz ... I can do that myself so I don't see the point in visiting that thread, let alone thanking for it.

As B and others, I do bother about original work being buried in non-original mass-posts.

I’m also bothered by the direction the “backyard” (I can’t honestly put “creative” anymore in front) has gone into the last months: arguments, ranting, discussions, throwing cheap shots etc…

I told Riv some time ago I was fed up with it (one of the reasons I don’t bother anymore with the “crop than Topaz it”-threads) and I crawled into the niche of the “Original Phunners” and “Nature Lovers” threads where true original work was still displayed and members coexisted in a nice atmosphere…
only to see the same shit creeping in here as well.

So … thanks a lot.

 

To prevent the "creeping" is to not show the appreciation for those that do the cropping of original work. I also would suggest to seeing if we should try and rename those threads. People may confuse the "original" part of of uploads. Some may consider original work to cropping or cutting out someone else's stuff.
Furthermore, those that do back door work should be criticized for posting in the original threads.

 

Wow, after reading the last couple pages some of you guys sure think highly of yourselfs. If it matters so much to you guys why dont you make your own thread with huge caps and exclamation marks saying exactly what and who can be post in it.
The creative backyard falls under a large range of content since alot of it cant be posted in the other sections. I came in this thread to look at some beautys and instead I read bickering...So if you want the bickering to stop Cfactory maybe you shouldnt post comments like the one above, because it only fuels it.

I agree we shouldn't bicker-but you surely you see his point. I don't think he is trying suggest that we are discriminative or the "A" list of Phun uploading. Merely that there is a clear and distinctive line between collections and uploads.
When you put an hour or so into something that you are very proud of and then want to show the world-only to have it buried with work that is obviously material from other artist around the net is disheartening.

there are various threads dealing with "similar" content - they all lead a peaceful coexistent life. sigs in the CB, 80´s/90´s girls in the vids, artistic nudes in the model´s. why shouldn´t this work for edits?
does SoHo in NYC suck because it has more than one gallery?

although "backyard" isn´t my favorite name for this part of phun (actually this distinguishes PHUN from other picset/vids - forums!) i still think it´s an honor not a disgrace to participate here.

I thought B made that crystal clear in his thread-starting post; it did to me anyways when I read it. In case it's not clear to you, here's a reminder:

There were 22 serene pages in this thread, until one felt he should start a completely pointless argument which he wouldn't have done if he read B's first post and intent for this thread.
It's exactly these things that happen too often on Phun lately and while some like you don't make alot of it, I think it's unrespectfull towards the thread-starter.

 

I come here peacefully, simply to say: Please start making your beautiful art again and post it. No more scuffling.

Not at all sir. Basically what I was describing is cropping imaging from a piece of art or wall as a whole and making, say, an sig out of it. Or another wall by merely cropping or cutting and altering colors making it your own. What you did is removing images (also called rendering) from several sources and created your own edit. IE, original work. We all do this.

Before I get plastered by someone for that comment-I didn't say that there was anything wrong with posting work from cropping others art. I don't do that-but I know others that do and I am NOT calling it wrong or illegitimate work. I don't want hate mail.....
