Signature of the Week - Discussion thread

Welcome to the SOTW thread!

Theme:
Winner of week #24 is GBTG and he did not provide a theme, runners up are inca roads and nemesis and they chose supermodels and video game characters.....so:
Theme for week 25 = supermodels and/or videogame characters. No verticals!.

Process:

• Create a sig by the rules stated below in the theme stated above.
  [*]Upload your entry to a host that allows hotlinking (I don't wanna have to re-upload it for it to show up in the thread)
  [*]Don't use a host that can be linked back to you (No directory with your nick, no nick in the filename of your entry, ex: biomoidsotw8.jpg)
• PM the link to your entry to me, include a theme for next week. (Winner gets to choose next weeks theme)

Rules:

• Entries may not contain your nick or anything else that could identify you.
• The signature can not be larger than 450*150
• By entering sotw you agree that all work is your own.
• Ripping is not acceptable, if you are caught you will be disqualified from the contest.
• Ripping is taking someone else's work, maybe editing it slightly and claiming it as your own.
• All entries must be new, you can't enter a sig that you have posted before in any other thread.
• All entries have to be in my inbox on Friday morning, list of entries will be posted on Friday, votes have to be in by Sunday, winner and new theme will be announced on Monday.

I'm in. I'm a little unclear on the "May not use a sig prevously posted in another thread" rule. Isn't the point to find the best sig of the week? And do we nominate others or submit our own?

 

what this is, there is a theme "anything" (which maybe should be changed to a theme) and we create a sig based on that theme. the entrants will submit their sig and will be posted on the first post for people to see all of the sigs together. then people vote.

bio, can you make a more difinitive theme for this week?

 

May I also suggest sigs arent pm'd? They should just placed in here. If either bio or sid are away entries could be lost and the comp well get heat. People should just paste them in and trust fair play and good spirits to ensure the comp is fair.

that's a fair point gap. i'm sure there'll be no favouritism. and what about the sig makers votes? do we say that we must vote on another sig that isn't our own?

 

All i can say is that if you dont all vote for me I FUCKING KILL YOU!

 

Why not pick a starting time like "tonight at midnight" and then from that point on all sigs that are posted in the cool sig threads that are in this weeks theme are eligible. If a member doesn't want their sig to be entered they can say that when they post their sig. That way we don't have to pick and choose which sig we want to enter.

 

Some people dont want to take part and I dont think would like to specify they dont want to take part.:2cent:

 

yeah, i think just stick to your own work, but if you see a sig by someone else then send them a pm and suggust they enter it.

 

am i supposed to vote on the sigs that are here, or should i google them?

lol, this is the first sig of the week thread, but we have until thurs to enter, then voting begins when all sigs are in.

 

The reason why I wanted to have entries pm-ed to me in stead of posted in this thread is to have anonimity. So people wouldn't vote for their friends or vote for a sig because it was from one of the known sigmakers.

The "All entries must be new, you can't enter a sig that you have posted before in any other thread." rule is there to ensure that they stay anonymous.

As I've said before, this is just week 1... if people don't care about anonimity then we could just have people post their entry as a reply in this thread.

I choose freestyle for the theme because I'd like the winner to chose the team. Since there's no previous winner I decided to not realy have a theme this week.

 

Only one entry per person? If so, What If I sent a sig tonight but on Wednesday I make one that I think is better can I switch it?

my voting query: should us entrants have a vote? and if so, should we make it that we must vote for someone else?

 

i think a poll topic should be made. sigs are numbered and just click the number you like
