She really went off the radar. I'm hoping that she backs out of this Rey movie. SW is ajoke of a franchise now. She should move on to other things.

 

She has a couple indie movies that she's producing/starring in, so she is keeping busy. As for the Rey movie, I have my doubts that it will ever happen. The release date has already been pushed back (possibly more than once) and Disney produced movies have been losing money hand over fist. The only Disney Star Wars thing that has any good will around it right now is The Mandalorian. Hence why a Mandalorian movie has been fast-tracked and will begin shooting very soon.

 

Even that good will is going south fast now that filoni has full control. Would like to see her in other things, preferably wearing less.

 

She is going to star in a Die Hard style action film called Cleaner from the director of GoldenEye, Casino Royale & The Mask of Zorro.

 

Google is free my guy. the sequel trilogy made over 4 billion dollars, solo made 400 million so wherever you got the idea the movies are losing money hand over foot is just wrong. Also the Rey movie will most certainly happen as there is already a script that Daisy has stated she is excited to read.

 

He probably got the idea from the quarterly earnings calls. They still haven't made their money back from the purchase of Lucas film.

 

Disney bought Lucasfilm for 4 billion dollars, in a filing back in march Disney suggested that Lucasfilm has generated nearly 12 billion dollars, last time i checked 12 is bigger than 4.

Solo most certainly didn't made any money for Lucasfilm considering that $400m worldwide (but only $214m in USA) is nowhere near enough to cover $275m production cost. Sequels may have made 4 billion combined which may look good until you realize that 2 billion of those came from Force Awakens!

But when talking about Disney loosing money on movies, we're talking about year 2023 where pretty much everything Disney released either lost money or broke even. And the only movie Disney have in Top 20 for 2024 is First Omen (did they actually released anything else so far?) which is currently ranked at #20!

So yeah, Daisy being excited to read script for supposed Rey movie is meaningless... whether that movie ever happen is highly questionable. It's been almost 6 years since Rise of Skywalker and based on what Disney claimed they planed we should have at least one movie done by Rian Johnson and at least one done by Game of Thrones producers (both of those were supposed to be trilogies of their own). Both of those trilogies now seem to be scrapped and pretty much only things Disney and Lucasfilm seem to focus on are TV shows... most of which get rather bad reviews.
