It's sad. I swear only beautiful women do this to themselves, never seen an ugly woman get uglier.

 

Tbf they probably don't get the same amount of attention, scrutiny or pressure to maintain their beauty. I doubt that any of us men could ever understand what it must be like to be a woman, nevermind a high profile woman seen as an object of desire by so many nitpicking men. Have you read comments around the board? It may give you some insight as to why women do this, have image issues, eating disorders and many other things that most men will never have to deal with.

This! It genuinely frustrates me how every post on an actress’ stuff gets tons of comments criticising their looks, then when they get surgery or the like it just incurs more criticism about how they should have stayed the way people were complaining about before. It reeks of misogyny and cringe. Reddit, especially, has this on pretty much every post anyone makes of Megan.

 

Yep. Then if you call out the misogyny they start throwing labels like simp and white knight at you in an attempt to defer attention from their scummy behavior. Its called giving people the same common human respect that you would want. The sad part is that the comments and vitriol they spew at others says way more about them then it does about the target of their venom. Unfortunately with the advent of social media that hate is magnified by the fact that any scumbag can now have such unprecedented access to other people. This has lead to a toxic environment where that hate spreads like wildfire. A whole generation of people suffering from self esteem issues lashing out at others in an attempt to make themselves feel better. That never works though. Putting other people down doesn't actually do anything to raise yourself up. Its a self perpetuating infection that comes back around on them in the end. Empowering others and taking a stand for others is actually what can help to lift you up. Live and let live is my motto.

Misogyny is the conscious malicious HATRED of all women, being critical of a individual woman's aesthetic surgical choices factually is not even close to that. Is it misandry to be baffled and disturbed by what Zac Efron did to his face?

We speak out against this trend to ideally prevent others from going down the same path, Fox was THE sexiest woman on the face of the earth in 2007, anyone who made her feel like her face was not attractive enough to the point that she needed surgery to fix it was utterly deranged and should not have been listened to.

 

This is one instance and there are plenty more. Misogyny absolutely applies. It is malice, prejudice or contempt for women and that is what we were both talking about. You act like you haven't been online at all. As if you haven't seen the way that women are talked about and treated. Its one thing to make a comment about her getting plastic surgery and your opinion of it, it's completely different when it's just outright nasty, hateful comments. As far as being disturbed by Zac Efron? Sounds like you need to get some more interesting things going on in your life. Maybe a hobby or something. Its odd to me that you would find something that is so far removed from you and doesn't affect you in any way disturbing.

I find it absurd that you would sit here and try to pass off hateful, malicious comments as attempting to be helpful. What's disturbing to me is that you are sitting here believing that you are doing a heroes work by cutting people down in a way that gives little to no thought about the actual human being. I have a daughter that is 16 years old and deals with body image issues. Every time she looks in the mirror she hates what she sees. She thinks about suicide at 16 years old. She hasn't even lived yet. I can assure you that seeing comments completely trashing other human beings for their looks is not helping anyone in any way. The reason behind it is irrelevant. All that matters is that people are afraid of being talked about the way they see others being talked about. That fear can lead to some serious problems. Saying "those people should not have been listened to" shows how ignorant you are. Those people should have thought about how it might make them feel to have the same type of hate thrown their way before carelessly tearing someone else down. As I said, tearing others down is not the way to lift yourself up. It drags society down as a whole. Lifting others up and supporting others is what comes around and will eventually lift us all up.
