MILESTONE WHAT DO WE DO WITH AI - IF ANYTHING?

Just wait until Cyberdyne Systems invents their new cybernetic sexbot that looks like Kristanna Loken. It'll be even worse then.

Seriously tho, it's going to show up whether relevant or not so I guess you just try to keep it separate as much as possible from actual photos of flesh 'n bone ladies. Not being a mod or administrator, I don't know how hard it is to maintain multiple sections or forums within each section. Is it reasonable to have a section just for AI, then two separate forums within that section - one for celebrity look-alikes and one for the imaginaries? Like the Model Section does with separation between pros and amateurs. And can we count on contributors to be honest about what is AI or not? Can we count on the human eye to even tell the difference once AI improves?

Personally I'm OK if AI images are banned here. After all, what is the difference between AI-generated images and something like anime or even graphic novels or generally cruder "cartoons"? Is it just a matter of degree as to how realistically the human image is portrayed? What if I use AI to create a naked image of Marge Simpson who is normally a crude cartoon? How would that fit our rules? (I'm sure someone would still fap to it haha.)

Having said that, I'm actually enjoying the AI stuff in the Creative Backyard forum as it stands today. I like that it is our own members who are being creative and trying to improve their abilities and show off their work. For now at least the images are not very realistic (software limitations, not our artists') and are quite "idealized" compared to real women. Idealized in the sense that each creator has their own ideas about what a perfect version of their favorite celebs should look like. I will always prefer real images of real women in all their wonderful variety but the creative stuff is still interesting. Maybe we should prohibit all AI except for what our own members create and then you can keep it down to just the one thread in the Creative Backyard forum.

 

I treat AI like any other fake - back when Kaleidoscope was routinely doing fakes, they had their own thread. I don't particularly have an interest in that type of content but there are those who do,

I would prefer to have them clearly labeled as such (if known), but other than that, I don't see them going away anytime soon either, so might as well have a place set aside for them. Whether you want to differentiate between known-celebrity 'morphing' content, and from-the-ground-up AI generated pics - well, that's up to you

CB as it was designed was always meant for a place to encourage and spur the creativity of our members for content that did not quite fit into any other of our well-defined categories. While it is not used by folks as much as it used to be, we should still embrace and promote this section as a (requisite?) haven for contributing said content, IMO.

 

Perhaps a tiny history lesson for the youngsters. "Adult" material has been among the leading "developers" of tech applications for about 50 years. The profit motive, I suspect. Those uses sped up that development for other applications, mostly useful and lawful. If allowing clearly labeled AI content in places like phun can contribute to development in some small way, then I say allow it. At this stage of AI's progress I see most celebrity clearly as AI. The classic master fakers do a much better job, IMHO.

 

None of us create anything with AI. At best the most creative you can be is to post your prompts, but it isn't your work. I like it and find it interesting but I have and will never use it for anything other than inspiration images that I can't spend the time to draw myself. I am a member of a few writers forums and we have seen people start to try and claim AI as their own work now. Which none of us really like. I follow a lot of artists on insta and they really dislike AI art.

Things are simple, if they look unreal, and make people uncomfortable, we delete it, otherwise, we keep it.
