I've been chatting with a young woman on Snapchat who lives in Novosibirsk Russia. She said it was -65 celsius yesterday. I cant even imagine that temperature. I was on a rig in the gulf of mexico once and it was -10 celsius with a 40 mph wind. That was the coldest night of my life. I shut the rig down due to the temperature.

 

Sorry; not on a computer, and I think that may be causing my issues with quoting & things since I joined.

My Uncle (Mom's only male sibling) used to be in a local Irish group (released his own CD, too), and I remember the songs with "fanny" & stuff took longer b/c at least 1 would start laughing.

 

Damn driller that is cold enough. It must have been between -30 and -40 degrees celsius.

Working today with a Casting, so later than usual blog.

London 7c with highs of 9c and cloudy.

My Wifie got this all the way from Australia for my *Australia day.

Its full of Aussie goodies and yes she did get a box of Australia beer!

*Australia day is like the 4th of July.

Evenings are getting brighter, its nearly the end of January
but its still limbo land or as someone said to me yesterday.

"This is the new normal".

People laugh when they discuss the music from when I grew up, because family listened to Oldies and watched older TV, so I know almost nothing.

At a time I can't place, some older celebrity died, and a TV report said something about "Fatty Arbuckle".

As often, I had 0 to do, but my brain went anyway. It eventually hit me how so much less is not-allowed now, so I keep waiting for the first mention of someone calling themselves "Fanny Unbuckle".

Busy day yesterday and a different sort of busy today.

On Friday, I'm meeting up with my family in what will be a bit like
a scene from "Bridge of Spies" (no some guy is not going to steal my jacket)
we're meeting in a park, i'll be sitting on one bench, they'll come along over
a hour and sit on another nearby bench as they're no longer in my social bubble.

No I've never watched "Arrow".

Try "The Voice" approach to Billie Eilish (as in they can't see her perform) concentrate on her voice (this sounds like a hypnosis tape) and her music.
I think she's amazing, yes it is image, but unlike some its image + talent, where many many others are all genic image.
I'm excited for what's ahead from Billie, the last time i felt this was for Amy Winehouse.

Lets hope for everyone concerned it has a happier ending.

Nearly 100 years ago, Fatty Arbuckle was a fat comic actor along with Chaplin, Keaton and Lloyd and in his day immersly popular.

But like Stan Laurel, he was also a very talented writer and director.

Fatty "Roscoe" Arbuckle also liked the ladies and while visiting a hotel that specialised in providing ladies for parties.
At one such party, a woman died, he was accused and over three trails cleared of manslaughter, but his career in front of the camera finished overnight.
His films were banned and he earned a living directing low budget films under a pseudonym.

In 1933, he died in his sleep, he was 46, the day after he signed a contract with Warner Bros. to star in a feature-length film.

Sadly i'm not surprised and in many cases, its not denying, its being unaware.

I was in Jacksonville in Oregon, its a real old fashioned "Wild West"town
that existed because the railroad passed it by, i was in one of the General
Stores and talking to a old guy about US Presidents.

He heard my accent and said "You know more about them than kids who
have grown up here, i show them photo's and they haven't a clue".

 

Educational you say. The subject may not be to cheerful but it is slowly being forgotten in the mind of the public.

I loved Jacksonville I lived maybe 15 minutes from there.
All of the holidays were really cool, and they had a classic car show every year also.
