This is the blitz-mentality re-emerging, which is great! As recipients of what's in store for us in spite of our political masters' well-meaning blunderings and incompetences, there's little left other than mutual support!
Of course humanity will survive for the time being - it's too wide-spread and established not to! But individuals, some possibly through weakness or stupidity, but others simply through individual genetic predispositions, won't survive!
What do you do when random death rains down? You do what all species do, you huddle together and hope you stay lucky?

Me Too!!! I like how his kids are somewhat involved. One of his girls fell down and then they cut, came back and said his camera operator had to be a mom again lol. His talk with Gary (his dog) tonight was great :D. Kimmel is good but I only watch his celeb interviews cause I dont care about politics.

So agree, love Jimmy Fallon, his at home shows are really feel good.

I watched Stephen Colbert at Home, he really suffers from a lack of
audience, but he tried the (really annoying) talking to (off camera) to his wife, son
and dog, he came across as really forced.

One of his guests was Daniel Radcliffe, they spend the first half of
the interview via Zoom, unable to hear each other.

But i'd rather have Stephen (and especially Jimmy Fallon) than
James Corden coming from his "Garage" as if..

*Pops in to give Sophie a hug because she's awesome, but only for three Mississippi's. Anything longer, she might think I was being weird.*

News: Part one - Not "Working" today.

    Part Two - My flat/apartment/unit doesn't have a garden.
If you've followed this from the beginning, you'll know I have a rooftop "Garden".

Yesterday evening the landlord phoned to say there's no one in flat 1 &2, flat 1 officially
have access to the back garden, and we should use it and he's reducing my rent by 25%.
He knows that my Sister and nb have moved in with me and he said if they want to move
into flat 1, he'll give them the same deal, so they're moving today and we now have a garden.

Part Three - We're been leaving food that nb (nb -= new brother) cooked (he's a chef) for the old couple next door.
We've been doing reverse borrowers and leaving them their shopping and food on their doorstep as they can't get out.

They have no garden, so we want to find a way they can use the garden when we're not in it.

It's going to be a beautiful sunny day here, now stupid fuckers don't treat this weekend as a normal weekend.

    and
Last night was so good and we trended again worldwide at number 1
and guess who chatted with Karen Gillan (she's lovely).

Next Saturday at 8pm UK BST (its an hour later as the writer of the episode is in New Zealand).

Its all so surreal, here less than a month back everything was "normal".
Then within a space of a few days everything changed and then lockdown came along.

You'll hear on the radio phone in shows "We went through the blitz we can
    get through this"
, i agree with sentiment, but a few times the host of the show
asked to the person on the phone "How old are you?".

You'd get various 62, 78 and even 80, so some were babies, the majority weren't even born.

Its the idea of "The Blitz Spirit", my Gran was born in 1918, she spend her 20s in a
air raid shelter in London, where they had the equivalent of a 911 every night for four years.
She told me you'd go down into the shelter, you wouldn't know whether your house would be
there in the morning or who that you know had survived the night or whether you'd still be alive.

There was a "Blitz Spirit", people got on and pulled toward, but it wasn't like some goodwill to all.
Murders and rapes and robberies still took place, there were lowlifes that stole the
jewellery off the corpses when the Cafe De Paris in London was bombed.

There was rationing that got worse after the war ended.

and now, basically we're being asked to stay indoors to save lives, to observe
social distancing and changes to the way we go to a supermarket.

Plus we have technology that they could of only of dreamt of.

Plus there's no food shortages, other the ones that have been caused by panic buying.

The biggest thing is for the most part staying indoors 24/7 with a few breaks outside.

I sometimes get the feeling of isolation claustrophobia when I wake but it fades once i'm up and about.

I've seen someone suggest treat all of this like a extended Christmas holiday.

This isn’t a holiday, unless everyone wants to binge like you would at Christmas
and in doing so fuck your health up and cause health problems aside from Corona.

I see this as a adapted life, it’s needs routine and it needs structure.

You can’t be on a extended holiday attitude if this is going to last until June or September.

That to me is the new blitz spirit.

What you say sounds spot-on, Sophie, and even at my age I can only say that on the basis of what I've read and seen in films.
And you're right that although the shared terror brought out the best in people, it also brought out the worst - as ever!
So no change there in the COVID-19 crisis!

I haven't noticed myself eating any more than usual, but I've gained 6 pounds in 3 weeks. :(

I hope the Government has taken account of this factor, which is going to accelerate the couch potato effect?
We'll soon need bigger houses - or at least bigger doorways!
