    Oh god; the incels, MAGA and traditionalists worldwide are going to have Phoebe's face plastered on shooting range targets after this(if their heads don't explode first). A woman as 007, and not just that but a woman of color? The worst crime in their eyes.

    Me personally, I don't give a shit. What; you think all spies are straight, suave, white men? Come the fuck on. If the performance is good and believable, I don't care what gender or color they are, strange I know. Congrats to Phoebe for breaking a huge barrier if it comes to fruition.

    Couldnt care less. And if the comic book guys of the world out there want to arm their keyboards over it its their choice. I find bond rather lackluster as far as franchises goes. But perhaps this will bring me back to it.

    I grew up on not watching any of the Bond movies. That was my parents' big date night. They'd go to the drive-in and me and my brother would be stuck with the hideous old babysitter. However, I have binged a bunch of them and am up to speed. Anxious to see some more.

    Over the years the James Bond franchise has strayed far from the gritty Fleming concept, and become more of a Marvel Comics product! It's in need of a total reboot, so it would be good if it could return to a harder edged, colder and less flashy tone more reminiscent of it's post/cold war origins. And maybe it's going to take a woman to carry it off? :cool:

    It might be a reboot of sorts, if they decided in the middle of gearing up for a new one to bring in a new writer of Phoebe's caliber then obviously there was a feeling that more of the same wasn't gonna cut it anymore(she doesn't do cookie cutter work).

    I do not care for Bond movies now, but in junior high school, 1962-1965, I bought and read every James Bond paper back novel I could, starting with Dr. No. Later, I would see all of the Connery bond movies and maybe some of the Roger Moore movies. I watched the movies 99% due to the ladies in them.

    I had a great time watching the old ones aswell. The villains and henchmen were always something i look forward to. Jaws was and is my favorite and im glad they didnt kill him of.
