Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads.     In those days they were seen as "Goods" and were a product of their age (I'm looking forward to finding out about them & what happened to them) in this case it was a portrait by a loving father of his daughters.

    On being a product of their age, it wasnt exclusive. Go forwards about 20 years & Lord Byron's daughter Ada Lovelace, who went on to become the World's first computer programmer & wrote what would become history's first computer programme.

    Gainsbough wanted his two daughters to be financially independent and not dependent/pressed to marry, one of the Sisters eventually married, but left her husband after 2 years of marriage, the Sisters lived together until their deaths.
