He would have been OK here if he hadn't continuously challenged the mods by ignoring their warnings and advice. But no, he had to be clever, and it eventually backfired. And then he blamed us. pfft!

 

I shouldn't have thread-crapped recently on Kim K but the reason I dislike her is because she is famous for being famous and adds nothing substantive to pop culture other than her great rack and pretty face.

Although it's going to sound hypocritical, I do get annoyed by people dropping by a thread just to say how a female celeb is ugly. If you want to get a dialogue going as to why others find a woman attractive, I see nothing wrong with that. There are some females whose popularity I can't understand but I like reading why one might find her attractive. Just my two cents.

 

I really don't get it. What's the point of trying to be nice and post content on here if people are going to bitch and moan if they don't like the celeb. I try to give thanks and appreciate the members who share stuff on here. I can't stand ungrateful ass people. It's the worst.

That's what I've been trying to say, it's going to be a problem in the long run. It might just be a feeling but I think that there used to be at least more variety here about 3-4 years ago, and maybe even more posts.
If Taylor, Selena, Emma, etc. are the ones you're interested in you're still fine, but if you're interested in anyone who's not an a-list celeb (more or less) then phun really isn't the best place to go, not anymore at least.

 

If I comment on a thread, I usually thank the OP. Doesn't matter if my comment is positive, neautral, or critical. I'll sometimes reserve a thanks if the OP's thank/post ratio is extremely low or nonexistent. If you want to post or comment, you should express thanks for other posters, if not you shouldn't expect it.

 

A number of regular contributors, including spiderswims, say they no longer post certain celebs because they either go unappreciated or get shit on by ignorant members. And sadly, a goodly number of those celebs who don't get posted are women of color. For a long time I've noticed an undertone of racism on this board and it irks me.


I thank nearly every content post I see. One look at my Thanks count will show that's true. Even if I'm indifferent to the content posted I don't think it's asking too much to click Thanks and show my appreciation for the other person's efforts. It's just common courtesy. The people who spend a lot of effort trolling Celeb Photos generally have a very low Thanks count. That's very telling. To me it means they don't give a shit about our community, so I tend to treat those people harshly when I'm forced to deal with them. It may not be very professional for an admin to act that way but I've been a member for most of a decade and have invested a lot of my time here because I really like this board. That's why it irritates the hell out of me when some people just want to act like assholes. It has nothing to do with freedom of expression. They're disrespecting the forum.

 

I think we need to follow a simple and common sense "rule";

You don't like a celebrity - Don't visit the thread full stop

 

Common sense. That's funny.

 

I may love a celeb, then click on the thread and it's her in a fluorescent orange potato sack dress for example, or doing something stupid, or with a douche-bag guy.

I will thank the OP, but may comment on the peculiar also. We are still humans on here, even if it is a forum.

 

This should be put in big red letters on top of the page of the celeb forums, because I really think a lot of people don't realize this.

 

I don't mean to pick on this newb, he's not the first. But...this guy has thanked no one, posted 0 pictures, and he's got a "important" complaint.



What if we nipped this in the bud? A guy who has posted no pics complains and he gets a suspension just to set the tone here?

How about we give him a chance, he's only been here since June. And with regards to his comment, he's not wrong. Just looking down that one page I saw a bunch of pics of pro models and others who aren't amateurs. This chick, for instance, is a well known Venezuelan model and actress in Latin America named Sandra Martinez. She's appeared in numerous telenovelas and magazine pictorials. This one is a candid from an event she attended...

How about instead of treating the new guy like a pariah you welcome him to the forum and help a brother out? You never know, it might pay dividends.
