I think deleting any post for whatever reason is censorship and must be avoided.If you dont like the post or poster then just ignore it

 

I'm not trying to censor anyone, I'm trying to change a mindset. To eliminate to some extent the predictably negative sentiment that is targeted at a number of celebs, not just KK. I was just citing her as an example.

Besides, if I really wanted to censor people there are already plenty of rules to support such action. But we'd rather not resort to that. The fact is, some of the other mods feel as I do, and others not so much. So reaching a consensus on what is permissible and what should be discouraged is not always clear cut. I would just like to see people tone it down. Just because you don't like someone doesn't mean you should go into each of their threads and insult them. It gets old. We all get it, it doesn't need constant reinforcement. What's worse is that most of the insults are mind numbingly hackneyed.

 

Okay, that's fair enough, it sounds much more reasonable when you put it that way. I try not to be too critical personally - and there are plenty of popular celebs here I don't like - but I can't resist on the odd occasion. I get your point though, I guess it serves no purpose when it comes down to it.

Again how is it fair that one person or a few persons is allowed to decide what mindset is right and what mindset is wrong and censor people according to their wishes?

 

It is the moderators job censoring this Forum. In saying that, there is a set(s) of rules here. The rules are then policed with taking some form of action on anyone/thing that breaks them.

The clincher is ... if a Mod wanted to, he or she could find anything a more risqué member did in one of those rules. So we members are given quite a lot of leeway quite often, by the Mods.

I have a very spirited and jovial persona, so I am glad the Mods here don't just lash out with bans willy nilly.

I know Scribe (for example) can be tough, but he lets a lot of stuff go to those who balance their comments with good and bad. He is just seeing the bad a lot recently me thinks.

Kinda funny, people get all rowdy because they don't like other peoples opinions...many many MANY people (the smart ones) who haven't been sucked in by the mass media flooding of the plastic surgery enhanced pornstar kardashian clan chose to ignore or sometimes bite at these non celeb postings (its a personal opinion ie paris hilton, blac chyna etc) i chose to mostly ignore them posts when i see "kardashian" in the title, but do find it funny sometimes to see people defending them and calling them icons etc....what for sucking ray j's dick and making a porno...and later latching herself to another idiot? while her mom filmed it all for mtv and the vapid youth and millennials lapped it up? in the uk we call that fake ass shit geordie shore or only way is essex..its as fake as that pornstars ass...oh wait i'll get a ban now because you disagree with me..thought u guys were american n free speech n all, hell i bet you vote hillary.

 

I don't see what's wrong with posting your opinion and discussing it - the problem seems to be more about the meaningless "gawd she's sooooo fat i don't understand what you stupid people see in her. she's uglier than emma watson, who looks like a boy" posts on every single thread. They don't add anything but frustration.

I think a lot of celebrities bring the negativity on themselves. Like Emma Watson talking about being a feminist and everyone giving her shit for it.... And rightly so. BBW models/actresses talking about how they're average size and we should embrace the fat acceptance movement like its normal (its not). And then they get into politics and talk about moving out of the country if Trump gets elected. First off, I don't want any political talk out of my celebrities/models. Any fondness I have for them at that point is gone. That being said, I don't get on and make pointless comments for no reason. For instance, the people that just get on and say "She's not hot" or "I don't know why you guys like her" are mildly annoying and the comment doesn't add anything to the conversation. Now the threads discussing Emma's Feminism or Amy Schumer's weight, even though people were pretty negative, it was a good discussion and I think that should continue. You notice many women on here do not get negative comments and it's because they don't bring the negativity on themselves. Overall, I think the women that deserve to get bashed, get bashed and the women that don't, don't.

Yeah, she was famous before the sex tape, but for what? Being friends with another equally-useless skank? I can't speak for anyone else but the thing I hate about this family and the many others like them these days is that they are super rich and have the (misguided) adulation of millions despite being talentless and offering nothing positive to the world. In my opinion they don't deserve any money or fame. I've no problem with people having these things but it should be in return for something good, for offering something that improves our society, surely? There are a lot of truly great people in the world and a vast majority of them have a fraction of the money and fame as these ridiculous 'celebrities' who do nothing but party and show off their bodies. I know it's not likely to change, that's just the way our preposterous society works sadly, but I still hate it. Every single day. To think that masses of youngsters grow up wanting to be like these people is genuinely worrying...

So let's cancel all sitcoms and dramas also cause they don't improve our society..

 

I didn't say it was a recent thing but you have to admit, it's far more common now, and the people in question often gain far more fame nowadays too.

You don't think acting is a talent then? I have no problem with talented people becoming rich from exploiting that talent. Anyway, I'm no authority on the matter, it's just something that I don't like and I felt like saying so. I believe I'm still allowed to do that.

acting is a major talent. Kim K has acted just as well as a bunch of celebs.
