true, but as a contributor that is what I want to read to be honest

I'm certainly not one of the top posters here but I want to contribute quality. I often go through photographers' and stylists' websites and various social media profiles, making sure I get the best quality version of each pic, looking for outtakes of photoshoots, etc. That is quite time consuming. I do it for myself, sure, but when I post here, I want to see people appreciate that.

I'm happy when people click "Thanks" but when the comments are full of posts like "she's ugly" or "she used to be hot" or whatever then I just think "why the hell should I even bother posting?" Those "Thanks" usually outnumber the negative comments, but those negative comments are so much 'louder'. And they ruin it, at least for me. Which is why I no longer post everything I find here. I mostly post stuff that I think would end up here anyway.

Also, looking at it from those poster's point of view I just don't get it. I'm not talking about some who may post a "meh" or "her last photoshoot was better" here or there, I'm talking about those who seem to troll or make negative comments most or all of the time. What the fuck is wrong with them? I mean, how fucked up do you have to be in your little brain to spend your time, visiting threads of celebs you don't like again and again and commenting on them? Even if I was some depressed loser with no job and no friends I could imagine better things to do with my time than that... Ban those assholes, for their own sake! Unsurprisingly most of those have never contributed any content, so what loss would it be? I'd prefer a rather quiet forum to one that's dominated by trolls and idiots and their so called 'discussions'. :2cent:

I think you should do something about posts like this while you are at it.

Don't think that doesn't cross my mind every single day. But it's not for me to decide on my own.

While I agree hostile insults and harsh vulgar slams have no place in general society, one needs look no further than twitter or facebook to see the most vile comments in the world, so seeing it on this site is nothing special. Some people get off on spewing hate from atop their high horse in the safety of a basement. These same people wouldn't dare say the same things in public, so maybe banning them is the answer, but that sets a dangerous precedent.... where do you draw the line?
I posted in a Taylor Swift thread for the first time in 6 months to call out her fake tits, fake personality, and lack of a shapely figure. I dislike her and will name the reasons why to anyone in public. My right to state an opinion trumps your..... oh that's wright, there is no such thing as a right to not be offended. Banning senseless hate and vulgarity is one thing, but silencing opinions you don't agree with is fascism. Also I find it amusing Scribe, that you used the term integrity while defending Kim K since she wouldn't know integrity if it bit her in the ass. Irony, huh? This thread has a social justice warrior smell to it.

Boring is one thing, but some of the stuff is just parroting what's been said somewhere else, with no value added to the discussion whatsoever.

Yeah but if a girl has a big ass, and it looks like a big ass, then it must be ...

('some stuff' said is as parroting as saying 'thanks' a hundred times - both are real input at least, rather than just surfing the threads)

Coming from a guy with an avatar of Hyuna, I'm not sure you have a lot of room to criticize.

If by saying "thanks" you mean clicking the thanks button then I'd say that's different than making a critical comment just to keep things from getting "boring".

In the USA you have the right to say whatever you want, and I will defend your right to free speech with my dying breath. But phun isn't the USA, it's a privately owned website, one in which the owner has given a select group of individuals a mandate to care for a property that is meant to bring joy to people, not piss them off. That's why it's called phun, and not phukked. We don't think it's asking too much of our community to leave the animosity elsewhere. Facebook and Twitter can be as permissive toward vile speech as they want to be, but that doesn't mean we have to go along with it, or that people who come here out of a need for enjoyment should have to tolerate those who just want to talk shit.

    This discussion needs some distinctions:

Things that are ok to say:
    1) It seems that this person is getting a lot of press for simply dressing slutty
    2) Discussing the merits of various aspects of a culture, as currently represented by a photo of legs/boobs/ass.

Things that are pointless to say:
    1) I think that this person is ugly
    2) You are dumb if you think this person is good looking
    3) Any post made by Fantasmaguy
    4) Don't see what all the fuss is about, she's average at best (you don't go into a crowded hot dog stand and say 'hey guys, don't you know that hot dogs are pretty shitty food! You must all be idiots!' right?)
    5) "Who?" "This is a celebrity now?" "Never heard of her." Dumb comments that suggest either a) you're unable to use google, or b) assume that the entire world only likes what you like.

I vote for a ban-happy September. In real life, if people acted this stupid, they would get punched repeatedly until they either stopped or changed.

Other idea - make a "hey fuck off" button next to the thanks. If any post gets more than some number of HFO's, it is automatically deleted. This does two things:
    1) Removes stupid shit automatically via the power of the community, without the need for emotion or action by mods.
    2) By giving people annoyed by said annoying person an option similar to the thanks button, it will keep thread posts to more content type things (like how the thanks button cuts down on the simple "TY lol!" posts).

Regarding Jackinthebox's idea of a "Hey fuck off" button...

If someone were to say "Like this post if Jk12012 should be banned" and it got as many thanks as a Maria Menounos pussy slip, I would feel like I had to carry out the will of the people.

    Ergo:

LIKE THIS POST IF JK12012 SHOULD BE BANNED

    I don't know.
Personally, I could give a rat's ass about any of these celebs.
If something is funny and not ridiculously over the top mean or disvusting, then it should be ok to say.
This forum is supposed to be fun, and sometimes that comes in the form of sarcasm and scathing wit. At the same time, no one here should be negative every post and not thank others for their contributions. There is something here for every guy to enjoy, as long as you're into women.

If I'm mistaken and this forum is not supposed to be fun, then a name change is in order.

self policing is the best way to handle lewd and rude comments

I remember about 6 months ago people were always commenting they wanted to fuck this and that celeb up the ass, and then there were subsequent comments about who actually enjoyed anal sex and whether men forced it upon women or not, and women went along with a cock up their asshole because it is what men wanted, and if you were a guy how would you like a dick up your ass, none of which comments had anything to do with an actress on a beach or at cannes, and is really exhausting to read when you just want to see a celebrity in a bikini

there is a huge forum which list celebs in single threads which does not allow comments in picture threads and I go there when I get tired of people commenting on other peoples's comments here

craigslist, for lack of a better example, has a self policing policy, where if 5-7 people click on a thread as abusive it is deleted

but then again that is subjective, if 1/3 of the people want to stick their cock in a kardashian or alba asshole, even though jerking off is the closest they've ever got to an asshole, and 1/3 of the people want to stick a tongue in a celeb's asshole, and 1/3 of the people don't want to get near an asshole anyway whatsoever, who is right/wrong and who should be deleted, the lovers of assholes or the people who don't care about assholes

as this is an international forum, USA or any other country should probably not be brought into it, as revenue is generated globally

    +1

With the exception that the "hfo" button could not be used on content posts. Those should still be assessed by a moderator before removal.

I thought about the most automatic way to deal with this (to save on mods' time demands) and I think the easiest would be to limit the usage of that button only to members with both a certain number of posts AND a certain number of thanked posts or thanks given. This would limit it only to longer-term members, and thus make it less likely for people to be dicks. An additional measure to combat overuse or misuse of the button would be to simply list which members click the HFO! button. We do have to remember that this is The Internet, which gave us this:

If anyone watches "Through the Wormhole" with Morgan Freeman, there was an episode awhile back where they did studies that showed the amazing power of being able to exclude or 'vote out' selfish people from your group. You end up with a big group of sharing and caring folks, and a small group of losers with nobody to prey on.

Anyways, for a brief diversion, this: http://qz.com/680891/the-straight-f...boaty-mcboatface-is-what-makes-britain-great/

No, I mean people who say 'thanks' (or a version of it) repeatedly. I know at least it is a thank you and not an opinion, but you need to realize opinions aren't criticizing the OP, but an opinion of the content.
(I am not condoning the harsh slandering like 'slut' or 'fat whore' etc)

I am just saying if we were only allowed to say please, thank you and good day ... it would be very boring. We need good with the bad .. that's life

Hey, maybe just look at the pictures :2cent:

She gets a lot of hate and justifiably so in my opinion. This is a celebrity forum, surely no one should need remind you of that? If it were a Jewish forum or an evil dictators forum I'm sure Hitler would get more hate then her, but since the focus here is female celebrities...

I can't stand anyone from that family and I don't need to be perfect to feel that way, no one has to justify their opinion. You can rant and threaten to ban people all you like but she is and always will be hugely unpopular. Even the guys that would give their left nut to fuck her probably don't actually like her or think she's a positive role model. Maybe some do but I'm sure it's not many.

I've personally only commented on one of her threads in my whole time here I think (and yes, it was a negative comment) but if that's how the majority of people feel, I don't think you or anyone else should be trying to censor them.
