A woman claims she was raped, and you want her to go back to work for the people who support her alleged rapist. He hasn't been found guilty or innocent yet as far as I know. But Sony chooses to continue working with him, which shows support. It makes sense for Kesha to not want to work with them.

What I'd do if I were sony? I'd let her go, with a condition. If he's found innocent in a trial, she's either have to come back, or get sued for breach of contract.

Isn't it weird how a woman's word = fact, in this society? Because we all know that women don't lie on a day to day basis, much less when there's something to gain. ;-) Coincidentally, there's seemingly little to no repercussions for false rape allegations either. And IIRC she admitted that Luke did nothing to her, during that deposition video. *shrugs*

 

Read the transcripts, she didn't claim rape until she saw no way out of the contract, and as I said, her inept feminist attorneys told her to claim it. She had several depositions where she never claimed anything nasty against the producer, let alone rape, until she felt boxed in for life.

A woman's word in this society cannot be trusted when it comes to sexual indiscretions, this has been proven in simple divorce cases where a wife claims the husband raped the daughters, and did not, to several highly publicized sports team stories. Some men are stupid and ain't no angels, but the days of ''cry rape and you get what you desire" are over.

SONY has her in their teeth like a dog on a bone and they are not letting loose. She has nobody to blame but herself.

What's weird about your argument is that she wasn't fighting to get out of an agreement with Sony , but just working with that specific producer. She was still more than happy to work for Sony and make them money. So, that kind of makes your argument full of poo. The stinkiest of poo. Feel free to take any female's word as gospel, regarding sexual encounters. And please forgive us who aren't above questioning those who make rape claims without a shred of proof. Several other artists who have worked with the same producer have suggested (both implicitly and explicitly) that her claims are credible and in line with the producer's overall behavior. Moreover, Geragos' [her attorney] argument that sony's offer is an elusive promise is completely valid given the circumstances.

And for what little it's worth, as a lawyer who has done DV work in the past (though it is quite far from my current area of practice), I fully believe Kesha's claims, purely on the merits and evidence presented. She does not have a good case legally - Sony is pretty much within their rights to hold her to her contract - but if anything, that makes me believe her more. Her actions and statements are entirely inconsistent with someone who wants money or attention. They are, however, entirely consistent with someone who is trying to get the fuck away from a rapist at any cost. I've yet to see anything whatsoever to contradict that assessment, other than ignorant and specious speculation or outright misogyny.

 

Regardless of your opinions on whether she was raped or not, which seem odd since no other female he has worked with has supported this claim, sexual assault has no part in this case because for one she has not gone to the police and has no evidence if she does. All it does is muddy the issue. It doesn't seem any different than what Prince and JoJo went through to try and get out of their contracts.

That's well and good, up until viewing the sworn deposition where she did just that, denying ANY sexual advances (much less rape) by Dr. Luke took place. So either she was lying under oath, or she's lying currently. Point is, she lied.
