Any sadness went away once he saw the box office results, I suspect...

Marvel holds the biggest records still though.

    Biggest Opening Weekend record...

Negative reviews and ratings will hurt the film going forward. Affleck is sad for a reason.

Usually the mark of a great box office bonanza is how well the movie does in its second week.

Who was it that thought Jesse Eisenberg would make a good Lex Luthor? He looks more like a douchebag than an evil genius.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I have to assume that if that many people are saying the script is bad, then it's most likely the script is bad. And someone of Afflek's caliber shouldn't attach his name to a project with a bad script. I mean, he once won an Oscar for Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen FFS.

There were some confusing things in the movie b/c Snyder had to cut 30 mins out of the movie. Critics and general audience prefer not to be thoroughly confused by parts of a movie plot. That stuff gave more details on some of the sub-plots. Studios want big budget movies to be around 2-1/2 hours to make more money. The 3 hour version will be released this summer on blu ray.

The script was brutal. Among other things, what was that Flash part about? The acting was horrendous. Head scratching casting. Doomsday looked more like a Ninja Turtle than the Doomsday I am accustomed to. Just a bad movie altogether.

Could have done without the Trump blast. Like him or not, he did not create these fears, thoughts, or themes.

A fan pieced things together and came up with a theory.

Like I said, we may not know the full plot until the 3-hour cut is released.

I enjoyed it, don't know what the critics are on - maybe they're actually the fanboys and feeling hard done by there was actually some characterisation, dialogue and an enjoyable storyline. Sure as hell beat Ultron and those stupid CGI robots, if I wanted to watch a cartoon I would.

The dialogue wasn't the most sparkling ever put to paper but the action was well placed and what made the predictable big CGI scene tolerable was I had just spent the previous two hours getting to know the characters.

I like some aspects of this theory like Superman working for (hopefully by force and not because of Lois dying) Darkseid. But, it seems to me that DC might be trying to catch all the way up to Marvel in one movie. I hope I am wrong because Justice League needs proper time to build up like Marvel did with Avengers. It is not fair to the fans that DC keeps making shit piles they call movies.

I liked it, it had it's flaws but I liked it.

The good: This is the best version of Batman I've seen. I know some of you will probably disagree but I really loved it; it made Batman into a true, hardcore vigilante and not just some rich guy with cool tech. His relationship with Alfred is different from what I've seen in other movies and it felt a bit odd at 1st but I grew to like it by the end of the movie.
Wonder Woman was equally great, I thought her fight scenes were really cool, and I don't think I've ever thought that before about a female superhero. She didn't feel like "just a sidekick" or eye candy.
The overall plot, although somewhat badly executed, is good for what DC was trying to accomplish with this movie. It thrusts you right into this world and forces you to catch up rather than slowly building up to it.

The bad: the opening hour just feels like a bunch of random scenes stitched together. I had read up on the plot before seeing it so I could follow along pretty easily but I can understand how it could have been confusing for others.
There is just way way too much pilled into this movie. Batman introduction and backstory/ Batman vs. Superman/ Lex's evil plot/ Wonder Woman tease/ Justice League setup. None of these things end up getting the proper time and attention they deserve and the overall story suffers because of it. Perhaps the 3 hour cut can solve the above 2 issues.
Lex is just awful, they turned him into a Joker type character. In a world that already has a Joker this was totally not needed, instead having him be a corrupt, power-hunger businessman would have made far more sense.
