I think we should qualify photoshoots and vidcaps/screencaps as the same category, because screen/vidcaps are not candids.

Also, I think we should allow implied/covered nudes (but no censored pics). While it's true that not every celeb has done a full frontal nude photoshoot, this is still a competition, so we should be able to push the envelope as much as possible in the name of competition.

I was thinking that perhaps for the first two rounds of a series we could submit only one pic for each of the first two rounds, the first round being a candid pic, and the second round being a photoshoot pic only. And then in subsequent rounds go with 2 pics, one of each, just to ramp up the competition a bit before the final rounds.

I'm hoping we'll have more than 8 teams participating in the next series.

PS: Thanks to everyone who played in the first series, and to everyone who took the time to vote. Let's make this a tradition we can all be proud of going forward.

 

Sounds like a good idea scribe with the first two rounds one for photoshoot and one for candid.
On the part of what are candids and wat are photoshoots is a bit of a grey area if u ask me, at times it's quite hard to determine if it's one or the other especially when people use pictures for social media.

Honestly the first series were quite good, maybe indeed allow some more nudity to get more people involved, one way or another was a great first series

 

And people wonder why Trump is going to lead this country....

 

From my perspective as someone who really enjoyed the whole Phantasy League. I would liketo propose the following and it may help with the picture selection debate of photo shoots and candids. I think the teams should be made up of a certain number of pics in various categories. For instance the various categories could be: Supermodels, Singers, Actresses, athletes and maybe an open category and or a miscellaneous celebrity categroy for those celebs who don't really fit in to one of the defines categories. Each team would have to fill a pre-determined number of roster spots. For example each team would have to draft three of each category. In the head to head match ups each captain selects two and then he would have one on the bench - as it were. This way each week both team captains would have two supermodels designated to go against two supermodels from the other team. That way you would have similar pics to choose from. the singers would also go head to head and so on. After each week a captain could then have some flexibility to bring someone off the bench for the next matchup.

 

We did categories when we did the trial run a few months ago. Can't remember exactly but I think it was singer/musicians, tv personalities, movies & tv stars, athletes, and nude.

 

yeah, I was thinking in some categories :thinks2: maybe 4 and 2 for free choice.

I think that we need new names, different celebs, maybe it would good to put some limitation to the celebs who were chosen in the 1st edition. To avoid the same matches or even the same pics, to make it fresh. so, maybe 1 or 2 at most per team

Another idea: a doubles round like tennis, so, all the team would be used in that round.

And -again :roll:- pay for make a substitution, if someone wants to make a change, the team lose 1 point... :roll:

 

I like the idea of categories and had recommended we continue the practice after the trial run, so I'm on board if a consensus thinks we should go that route. It would also address the limitations that yukon mentioned. To some extent at any rate.

I don't think teams should be penalized for making a substitution, because the team is usually losing anyway. However, as long as we're using the current 4 round-playoff-finals format, substitutions should be limited to two per team maximum, and only after rounds 1, 2 and 3.

I'm not certain what to think of the multi-celeb vs multi-celeb idea. It's interesting, so I won't just dismiss it out of hand.

 

The reason I was against the categories is that too many celebs fall into each one. Taylor Swift and pretty much every pop star that is out has been in a movie or two. Kim Kardashian has released music, is a tv personality, and has been in movies. Emmy Rossum could also go in the singer/musican category. Just seems like a big clusterfuck. If we made the rounds themed and they were more about the pictures like swimsuit/bikini, nude, face shots, booty shots, photoshoot, wearing a hat and stuff like that it could be fun. I bet there would be some huge upsets. So we'd still draft whoever but the pics would depend on the round theme.

I would be ok with that if we don't have a lot of teams again. If we have 25 teams and each team gets 6 celebs that is 150 celebs. Are there that many that we think would do pretty well? I mean we don't want a couple teams that are full of duds

 

How about length of rounds? Was 3 days better than 4? Do we want it to be set when the polls go up or were you all ok with them going up a day or more early once we received all the pics?

Spider's idea about creating different themes for each vote sounds interesting. That would work even better than trying to pigeonhole certain entertainers who do more than just act. But we could make a distinction between entertainers and models. One or two acting gigs doesn't make you an actress if you're primarily known for something else. For example, Christina Aguilera is a musician, Emily Ratajkowski is a model and Kim Kardashian is a... well, I'm not sure. Persona perhaps. There's no way I'd classify her as an actor or musician, and her modeling is mostly about self-promotion.

I wouldn't be totally against suspending the top 10 winners from each series from being drafted on the following series, or even two. I have multiple folders on 215 celebs, not including random folders on many, many others, and I bet if I listed them all phunners would recognize the vast majority of names, if not all of them. Plus there's a gazillion celebs from all over the globe who don't even get posted here but are still wildly popular in their home countries. So there are plenty of celebs/entertainers to choose from. It may even make it more interesting if we're inclined to introduce fresh faces into the mix.

Exactly, on the other hand i was thinking if we would suspend some of the more "famous" celebrities it might, just might keep some folks aways from voting..but i'm not sure
