My spin:
Lots to talk about here! Let’s start with the shocker: Eva Herzigova needed a late rally to draw with Irina Gerasimenko. Or is it a shocker? Reference my tournament preview post: “Watch out for Irina, who may get more support than you’d imagine.” Yup, I called that. All is not lost for Eva, as she can still advance to the Knockout Stage with a convincing win over rookie Robyn Lawley. But, then again, Irina is in the exact same boat!

The other winners were not surprises, but some of the margins of victory were. Shirley Mallmann had a tough time with 1980 one-timer Jocelyn Javits. Heidi Klum, the 9th ranked model, didn’t completely dominate Barbara Minty. The #7 seed, Kathy Ireland, certainly dominated, though, coming up with a clean sheet against Anna Getaneh. Finally, I’ll leave you with this note: over 7% of the voters liked a sweater-clad Jane Gill over #1 Bar Refaeli. Are there some Bar haters out there?

No surprises today. Josie Maran continued where she left off in the 2014 tournament, as she rolled over her opposition. Josie’s only two career losses have been to #14 Hannah Ferguson and #4 Nina Agdal. So, Josie will not be an easy out from the 2015 tourney!

My spin:
Aline Nakashima impressively prevailed over Malia Jones to take the lead in Group 68. She’ll face Molly Sims next, and a win over Molly will send her on to the Knockout Stage. The favorites held as expected in the other two matches today.

Two of the top four models were in action, and both won by identical margins. So, Nina and Marisa rolled, as expected. Samantha Hoopes also won comfortably against Karen Alexander, which keeps things in line with a likely showdown against Kate Bock for the group title.

Sonia Dara lost her first match to Chrissy Teigen, but she bounced back to beat Reka Ebergenyi in her second match. On the surface, the win would seems to have kept Sonia’s hopes of advancing alive. But, in reality, she's still eliminated, since Chrissy would have to lose to Reka and do so by a large margin. But, if that happened, then Reka would advance. So, Sonia is out, despite her victory!

My spin:
Hawaiian/Canadian Michelle Vawer rolled over the first SI covergirl, Babette March. Surprisingly, Yvonne Sylvander also got more than 90% of the vote against Rosie de la Cruz. Their rankings are 186 & 197, respectively, so I’d have expected a closer match. Also, this was Yvonne’s first career tournament victory - against 5 losses.

My spin:
We have the third draw of the 2015 tournament, as Carre Otis and Kim Lemanton couldn’t be separated. Angela Lindvall remains the front runner in the group, but the winner of the final group match, between Carre Otis and Angela Lindvall, will determine the group’s winner.

Other results were as expected. Karen Mulder had little trouble with Roberta Little (pun intended), and Chandra North easily came out on top against Roshumba Williams.

My spin:
Kylie Bax delivered the fourth clean sheet of the 2015 tournament with a blanking of Annette Molen. Annette had taken about 1/3 of the vote against #23 Julie Henderson, but she couldn’t even muster a single vote against Kylie. So, the result sets up a showdown between Julie and Kylie for the right to move on to the Knockout Stage. Maybe Kylie is the favorite at this point?

In the other matches, Oluchi Onweagba rode her substantial frontal assets to an easy win over Bernadette Swann, and Pixie Peterson easily earned her third career victory over the winless Irina Pantaeva.
