They should've made the remake with sexy woman in low cut tops who catch ghosts in their bras.

    LOL
I'm just looking forward to it being a decent movie. I personally hate remakes but I like the way they're trying this one.

You guys seem to take this really serious...it's not like I'm petitioning the movie for the Criterion collection.

What bothers me most about this picture is that they're all smiles but the kid in the background looks half dead.

I heard the Huey Lewis song for the first time recently. When it started I actually thought it was a cover of the Ghostbusters theme.

You forgot Poltergeist which is now a cheap CGI "jump-scare" movie as well as Star Trek Into Darkness which remade the Wrath of Kahn which they should have NOT done.

    Why?

Talk to Bill Murray, he'd say the second one ruined the franchise.

as for McCarthy The Heat was funny, Life as We Know It is good movie ( anything with Christina Hendricks I can watch ever) and St. Vincent is amazing.

I see no reason to think all women Ghostbusters is any more or less likely to suck than the two all men Ghostbusters movies.

Sony (I think) is also going ahead with the remake they've been talking about for years. Supposedly, it's being slightly rewritten to take the all-female group movie into account. They're going to make it a shared universe and Ghostbusters will be a franchise type of deal.

As of few days ago by the producer of both previous films and the current one:

I don't get the hate over the all-woman cast. That part is fine with me.

As for actual casting, Wiig and McKinnon are fantastic. McCarthy has been hit or miss for me: funny at times but also it feels like it's always the same character. I'll give Leslie Jones the benefit of the doubt because I've only seen a few quick SNL bits so far. (though, gawd, that Chris Rock one…)

Though I'm not really a fan of "reboots" in general. It's just a way for the studios to make some guaranteed cash without taking a chance on a new idea. Why not write something completely original and have that be an all women cast?

But I mean I'll watch it and probably at least mildly enjoy it.

How could you forget that bull shit remake of Robocop from last year?

The original is a sci-fi masterpiece and they never should have attempted a remake.

The list could be endless, and I listed what I could remember, the Robocop remake does deserve a high place on the list.

The Robocop remake was surprisingly good. The suit was crap compared to the classic but the film itself was quite sensibly done.
