I guess this is how the new Ghostbusters catch ghosts

They hang out at children's hospitals and just wait for the ghosts to kinda pop up on their own

 

Looks like they're about ten seconds from catching the next one.

 

Fucking horrible idea for a remake, plus anything with Melissa McCarthy is sh!t

 

Well this is going to suck big time.

 

Hope no-one goes to watch this.

 

There no real reason to think it won't be funny. The dumbest decision yet for the movie is filming in Boston as New York, given the original was such a quintessential New York movie.

 

I'm picky about comedies and found quite a few of her movies funny: Bridesmaids, The Heat, Spy, etc.. If I remember correctly, all of those movies had decent critic reviews too.

We basically had a few choices for a Ghostbusters remake...of course it's easy to say "None at all" but we knew it was going to happen. I can think of so many worse possibilities.
-Some of the original actors which are now quite old. Possibly funny.
-Actors in their late 20's trying to a faithful copy of the original. That would be boring/tired.
-What I expected: A bunch of Hollywood teenagers that are just going to irritate me. (think of Elgorts, Cena, Gordon-Levitt, etc..) They would end up making the movie too serious and edgy.

At least with women it's going to be a totally different feel. The director also did Spy and Bridesmades, Freaks and Geeks, many Arrested Development and Office episodes, etc.. He's been on a role lately.

I bet this movie will do very well in the box office and overall positive critical acclaim. I think it's a fresh approach to the story and looking forward to it.

 

Is it in one of those Alternate Dimensions like the new Trek Movies?

 

I think it's a straight-up remake.

 

Can't stand McCarthy personally, so I'll be steering clear of this :|

 

McCarthy is funny here. If she does this in Ghostbusters it'll have one joke at least.

she was great in bridesmaids and the heat wasnt bad, no need to hate everything for no reason
but yeah, this remake sounds like shit

 

Didn't find the original Ghostbusters very appealing outside of Sigourney Weaver and I absolutely dread that the Huey Lewis song will come back into our collective consciousness. :thumbsdown:

 

Ray Parker, maybe? Don't think Huey Lewis had much on the soundtrack, but I could be wrong.

Ray Parker "borrowed" from the song "I want a new drug" from Huey Lewis for the Ghostbusters song.

 

Or, he's hopeful and actually waiting to see the movie. Paul Feig does good stuff and the cast is pretty good overall.

She's not funny. Her TV show blows. I don't find her entertaining in any way.

Paul does, but there is no saving this bad idea of a remake.
