Alexandra Daddario and Kate Upton @ Hockey Game (Twit Pics, 4/23/15)

I'm not willing to go on record and state that nudity makes a movie worse. I don't care for fake sex scenes but I really hate "lovemaking" scenes where the woman still has her bra and panties on because that just requires too much suspension of disbelief and I find that frustrating to watch.

I can't imagine how removing nude scenes from a movie would make the movie better in all cases - immediately the actress who comes to mind is Dame Helen Mirren. She once said:
"Flesh sells. People don't want to see pictures of churches. They want to see naked bodies."
She made some very good movies and she got naked in many of them.

 

Upton has the prettier face, at least here without makeup and lighting. But Daddario's body blows hers (and virtually everyone else) away.

I think we can agree that if she's bald it makes that nudity more relevant, right?

I think I need to rephrase after reading your post, because you're right that NOT having nudity where there is SUPPOSED to be nudity is even less acceptable than the general feeling I have of nudity as being unnecessary. A director should not intentionally disregard nudity if it is imperative to the story. Also, I think nudity if far easier to use than sex.

I've only seen a small part of Melancholia (and the nude scenes on here ), but that kind of 'artistic' nudity isn't really what I meant in terms of being 'unnecessary' to use. Another good example of a movie that uses sexual situations to its advantage is Irreversible, if you can manage to get through watching it

By and large though, sex scenes are just too cheesy to really have a necessary part to the story. It really has to feel streamlined and integral to not be questionable.

 

I sandwiched a Hope Solo pic inbetween a very serious conversation. BTW, roast beef with blue cheese is awesome.

For the record, I don't like professional porn or watching people play pretend on the big screen. It bores me big fucking time and would rather read a book. Sorry to be a killjoy, but only the nudity interests me. I will still never forget where I was after seeing Teri Hatcher's tits for the first time. Thank goodness for the FF button.

Anyhow, Abigail Spencer's private videos to her husband are way hotter than any movie ever shot. It's as real as it gets and a 'now I can die' type moment without the hokey dialog. "I want you to fuck me right now," that says it all to me.

 

Not only are they real, but they are saggy and need a good bra....

 

With those types of addendums, I'm surprised you aren't working as an editor at the NY Times.

I now can't eat roast beef without thinking about Hope Solo. Don't know what it says about me, but the picture actually places me in a good mood.
