Sorry, it wasn't meant to be hostile it was meant to point out the futility of trying to solve the what belongs/what doesn't debate by creating additional forums, that each in turn would result in their individual what belongs/what doesn't debates, essentially splitting one bigger issue into several smaller issues.

In other words whatever we do the same issues are still going to apply regardless of how many forums or sub-forums we create, or what 'solution' we come up with, and at some point we're just going to have accept that we can't each get a forum tailor made to our preferences.

.... perhaps sarcasm wasn't the right course of action, lesson learned!

plus I'm super frustrated by the whole who is/who isn't a celeb debate, and how we seem to be jumping through all kinds of hoops just to avoid the fact that, as long as we have a celebrity section, one way or the other, some determination is going to have to be made as to what constitutes celebrity.

    Apology accepted ;)

By this logic, I'm never going to cut my hair again because I can't find a way to stop it from growing. There's no futility in trying to put things where they should be. It's just a matter of the right way to do it. On top of this, I'm not spending time giving feedback about any of this nonsense because I am 'getting' my own 'personal preferences' rewarded. I'm doing it because I felt like helping out, nothing more. It's definitely not meant to be an annoyance, like the majority of my other posts.

The GOOD thing about having to choose who is and isn't a celeb is that it IS open to interpretation. This gives you the freedom to allow just about anyone INTO the section without repercussion. Technically, if you look at it in reverse, just the act of posting a person in the celeb section MAKES them a celeb by default, because they're there. If and when things are divided from there, it should be dependent upon the context, not because you 'have' to make 'another sub-forum.' The context of the majority of the content in the celeb forum right now (which is how it has been for years) are candids, events and promotional shoots--basically the following of the daily lives of these people and when they wipe their ass. This makes it very easy to recognize that the context of magazine shoots, modeling gigs and nudity feel out of place amongst this prevailing majority, especially when the people doing these shoots are more model than celebrity anyway (Candice Swanepoel a celeb? Really?). Also, it would be easier to moderate a forum that doesn't have tits and ass intentionally flying about. This is coming from me, the one person making the MOST sexual comments in non-sexual settings.

I'm also not disagreeing with what you're saying about having a 'sub this' and 'sub that' to fix and kowtow to every need and want. If that were to happen, it would be a maze of sub-forums and confusion, making navigating the site more difficult. However, I think if you look specifically at the separating of celebrity content based around candids from that of celebrity content based around modeling, it's pretty obvious that having another little forum for the latter wouldn't be a foolhardy decision.

Still, my hair keeps growing :dunno:

We're never going to create an "official" definition for celebrity because the term is evolving.
A proposal of this nature is currently being hashed out.

sometimes when you divide a (in this case pretty good working, imho) thing into parts you lose with making it useless. sometimes you win because you have more when the parts work on their own.

what actually is/are the reason/s behind wanting to split the celeb-picture-forum?
    - making the celeb-forum a "sfw"-place?
    - negating certain countries/areas having celebrities?
    - ??
    - ??

just having more subforums isn´t a real reason for me to change anyting.

for me the "original" difference between celeb- and model-pics sections still counts... non-"porn/erotica"-women vs "porn/erotice"-woman, to put is simple.

a (fictive) topless/nude shooting of Jessica Alba for meinmyplace makes her a model, all of a sudden?

ps.: even on red-carpet-events celebrities are "posing" (means, likely: modeling)

Since I started this thread, I guess I'll try to end it...

I have been a member of this forum for many years. I come here because I want to see naked mainstream celebs.
If I want to see anonymous naked chicks, there are other places to find them.
I live in North America, and I believe that a lot of us do too. Does this mean that I think that only North American celebs should be in here? No.
I mean no disrespect to the viewers of Croatian TV (or any other media outlet in this category), but chances are I don't know any Croatian celebs (and I imagine the bulk of us don't either).
I am not one to judge the varying degrees of celebritydom either. I just think that posters who participate in this forum (of which I am one) should know better that an anonymous playboy model is not a celeb just because Lindsay Lohan appeared in playboy.

The other day, someone posted almost a dozen threads of Mexican Playboy models. Are these legitimate celebs? Maybe in Mexico, I don't know. But I imagine that most of us didn't know either.

Recently, the Celeb Movie Forum was sub-divided with "Softcore/Erotica Movie Forum", because everyone who got naked on late-night cable tv was being included with celebs from mainstream movies.
I thought this was a fantastic idea. I was just suggesting that the same be done with the Celeb Forum.

So I guess this thread was directed at the fine folks who build/run/moderate this fantastic forum. I don't mean to make more work for you.
I'm just hoping that the Celeb Forum doesn't become a catch-all for anyone who's appeared in a local high school production of "Hair", or the Lithuanian version of Playboy (no disrespect to any Lithuanians out there).

    Just sayin'...

everyone who is able and willing to read it.
    no.

    @renegade::
don´t want to give the impression that i´m against any changes at all. without adopting to changes phun most likely wouldn´t have survived 10 years.
probably being the most non-celeb-aficionado amongst the staff here (i do like good photoshoots, i care less for the names) but still at least partially responsible for all sections here i´d just like to know the reasons for discomfort at the status quo. 10 wannabe mexican celebs from PB (i think most of them are in the model-forum now, anyway) don´t justify a major overhaul.
wiil a split-up celeb-picture forum be less or more active as it is now?
will any split be '"doable", also from a moderating-standpoint (that´s maybe not the most-important, but still a significant one)?
this is no "trial and error" thing to do.
the split of the model-picture forum into "pro" and "am" for example didn´t lead to more activity in both new subforums, for example.

The problem is that it's not just your hair that you'd be cutting, it's everybody's, and although the particular 'hairstyle' you propose is just as valid as any other, it is by no means going to please everybody anymore than the current 'hairstyle' we are stuck with. If we could all agree on the right way and/or where things belonged you'd be absolutely correct, but we can't agree on that anymore than we can agree on what exactly constitutes celebrity.

...but again I apologize. I took my frustration I was having w/ other people out on you, and that isn't right or fair, but as long as we have this situation in which some Playboy material can be posted in CP (or some sub-forum there of), but some can't and must be posted in MF somebody, somewhere, is deciding who is and who isn't a celebrity, so I can't understand why that isn't open for debate or discussion, but all these other things that not everybody is going to agree on, ever, are. Just frustrated that's all.

    I proposed:

Playboy material by default (being that it is adult content from an adult magazine and/or website) belongs in MF because that is where that kind of stuff is posted. Logically, the only reason I could come up w/ to override that default would be if the subject of the shoot already had an established presence (and therefore fan base) in CP.

So, those 'Mexican Celebs' should go in MF, not because they aren't celebrities in my book, but because they don't already have an established presence in CP.

... and this seemed like a perfectly reasonable suggestion/solution to me, but it got no traction either, so I feel ya'.

You can take all your frustrations out on me, as long as you wear a condom :naughty:

Yes, someone will always be deciding on who is a celebrity because of the structure of this website, but it's easier to agree if something is modeling or if something is candid than it is to agree on if someone is a model or is a celebrity. The context of a photo is more tangible (and more permanent) than who or what that person is at any given time.

It's a fact that the context of every single photo posted here in regards to Playboy, Maxim, NUTS, FHM, Victoria's Secret, etc. is that of modeling (posing), regardless of the label we choose to give for the person doing the modeling. If we stay true to this, Candace Swanepoel, who by trade is a model and who is doing modeling for a magazine that is based around modeling, belongs in a model section, regardless of how 'long' she's been erroneously affiliated with the celeb section. Just because she isn't completely nude doesn't make her any less of a model than any of the girls doing Met-Art. While we're at it, we might as well put Suzie Carina in Celebrity Extra.

    Logical doesn't always mean practical.

You can call off your dogs. It's not necessary to follow every comment I make in this thread to circumvent my feedback. I don't care what the fuck you guys do to be honest. You have way more of a vested interest in this place than I do.

Really didn't have much to do with your post. I was reading the comments from the mods that have been posted since the last time I was in this thread and gave my opinion...............Keep it how it is.

Next time I'll be sure to mutli-quote who I'm responding to. :Hi5:

I'm against the moving all celeb photoshoot/mag/modeling pics to the model section so no need to reply saying all the following question would be answered by doing that. Celebs belong in the celeb section no matter if it's a candid or a mag. As a content poster It's easiest the way it is now us not having to determine what mag pics go where. What photoshoots go where. Is she a celeb? Is she a model? Is she both? WHAT SECTION DOES SHE BELONG IN?! blah blah blah.

ps1 I only have one dog and she doesn't listen to me.

    ps2 I'm fucking hungry

    ps3 I want a PS4

ps4 nobody respond to my post. Just read it and then ignore it.

I get so turned on when you're forthright :naughty:

Everything being moved to the Model section isn't going to happen. I'm only highlighting the concept behind it, not what is realistic for Phun. The only other option, if anything, would be dividing Celebrity photos. You, as being a poster of almost all candid photos--wouldn't it be easier if you had a candid forum and a modeling forum, considering those are the only two types of photos that appear in Celebrity photos? You didn't like having to scroll through the Playboy posts when they were there. What's the difference between that and scrolling through countless Victoria's Secret shoots?

We may or may not split some CP content. But if you think we're going to do it at the expense of diluting the Model Forum, think again.

So here's the deal... CP remains status quo, or a split might happen for CP content. I'd like to see a sub for the racier stuff but I don't have final say over anything. So we'll all see what happens. Stay tuned....

Actually, let me preface that question with another: is this discussion still open to feedback in this thread?
