    You are correct. Every corner of the planet has someone they put on a pedestal and impart a level of fame to, and at the same time that person is as noteworthy as the homeless person on the street corner in another part of the world.

    I am not trying to say she is not famous, just that in some cases, that fame doesn't extend beyond specific borders.

    Maybe that is because what country you come from is not even relevant, nor is a celebrity needed to be worldwide famous to be famous. Even that threshold would become a bone of contention. How many countries must "ratify" that someone is indeed recognized as famous for people to shut the hell up about it? It's a bit ridiculous after a while. So what you haven't heard of them...No one cares.

    A good 'rule of thumb' would be that if a link (such as wiki page) has to be added at the beginning of the post to help 'identify' the person - they simply aren't famous or a celebrity! The likes of Rihanna don't require descriptions.
    These cheerleaders and models are ten-a-penny!
