The Attention Deficit Disorder Thread

Met with the doctor last Friday. The blood results came back negative for gout. The doctor I'm seeing is horrible. She put me on three different medications (2 of which have nothing to do with my foot). She also ordered another blood test (again, for something that has nothing to do with my foot). I have no plans on getting it done though. I still have to get a referral for a podiatrist, then I'm done with her.

 

Do you have another doctor you can go to? I don't know how things work there, anyway, I'm glad your done with this 1 if she isn't helping.

 

Yeah. The good thing is that she isn't my actual doctor, she's the PA. The plan was to go straight to the podiatrist from the ER. But with my insurance, you have to get a referral from a physician. She doesn't know what she's doing. It's already been a month, and no progress has been made. She's also just rude. Here's an example of what it's like talking to her.

Doctor: So did you get your blood taken?
Me: Yes.
Doctor: Okay, let me look for the results...
Me: I was told they came back on the 20th.
Doctor: I know (said in a tone of "no shit"). I'm looking right at them.

 

I hate doctors who act like that, I've encountered a few.

Last year I had a rash on my leg and went to see a dermatologist. The bitch spent 10 minutes on a personal call and then told me that I had an unknown allergic reaction and would need to get a skin biopsy done. I then went to see another doctor and he just prescribed a cream, and it was gone in a week.

 

My overall experience with doctors has been very positive.

 

I've pretty much always had bad doctors. I once had a doctor slap me right where he just performed surgery on me (my back)...

 

Well here's a new one: the podiatrist they referred me to is a ghost. :roll:

 

Yep. The phone number they gave wasn't even in service. Turns out that he died earlier this year.

It's a 'daylight lamp'. Does the trick for me on dark or greyish afternoons like today.

I've spend the last months sleeping, working and occasionally having some fun.
